About me:

Joe Davis is a singer/guitarist from Kannapolis North Carolina. It is Les Pauls and Overalls, Marshalls and loud ass rock n roll, from the south!!

Being born and raised in the south, from a hardworking background. The son of vietnam era vetern who worked in Cannon Mills for 43 years and a mother who was a graphic artist. Joe Davis has been forgeing ahead with music for many many years. Joe started playing guitar when he was just four years old. At a very young age he was a child protege guitarist. Without the media outlets of todays times, it was a up hill battle but all the while knowing exactly that this was his calling.
Fighting to be heard and deticating his entire life to his craft. Joe worked all over the country in various situations sharpening his skills for years before deciding to break out on his on. An ace songwriter, with mad guitar skills with just a incredible voice. Joe is the true genuine article. With his own beyond normal hard working background and his relentess work eithic.. he has produced,wrote and recorded, such albums as, Dark Horse Live from the Delta Hubcap, Joe Davis,You Can't Stop Me, The Balance of Power and a cd entitled Little Songs.


He is a screaming guitar maniac who can sing very well he has one of the most incredible bands in the southeast. A pioneer of the sound he refers to as "southern metal" or " swamp metal" he delievers with gusto, heart and passion. A mix of southern music, heavy metal, hard rock, delta slide blues and more..creating the sound known as The Joe Davis Band. A award winning musician getting best hard rock act in 2007 at the Charlotte Music Awards as well as the 2008 Charlotte Music Awards best male vocalist. With four albums under his belt as The JDB and more on the way, he has sold over 10,000 albums with no help from a record label. The Joe Davis Band remains playing live and stunning audiences.


Inspired from such great guitarist such as Jimmy Hendrix, Gary Moore,Ted Nugent, The Allman Brothers,Duane Allman, Warren Haynes, Dickey Betts, Randy Rhodes, Jake E Lee, Zakk Wylde, Dimebag Darrell, Gary Rossington and all the Skynyrd guitarist, John Sykes, Van Halen Roy Clark, Chet Atkins, Les Paul, Jerry Reed, Eric Clapton, Paul Kossoff, Chuck Berry, Angus Young, Malcom Young, Slash, Yngwie Malmsteen, Paul Gilbert, Ry Cooder, Robert Johnson and so many more it would mind blowing to keep up with. With a degree of influence and real sincere guitar hero worship to these artist, creating a new sound, with a real feel about it.. Everything that leads back to a sincere song...



The coined phrase Les Pauls and Overalls was giving to Joe from founding Dark Horse band frontman and lead vocalist. John Allen Soloman.
