    started and currently reside in the rainy city of Portland Oregon. They came together in 2007 and made a name for themselves playing in basements and bars as a great local punk band. The band has recorded a full length album, an EP, and have appeared on a split 7" and several compilations. They have also crisscrossed the country on tour playing hundreds of shows all over the North and Southwest. As of 2011 Absent Minds is a four piece with Joel Hixon on guitar and lead vocals, Issac Hayden on cello, DJ Woods on drums and Davey Death Ray on bass. They pride themselves in their DIY ethic and always help out any fan, touring, or local band. Musically Absent Minds combines classic elements of punk, ska, rock, folk, and blues with an injection of electrified cello. Described as "excellent cello punk" by Razorcake, their energetic live show has a tendency to make people dance uncontrollably while singing along drunkenly to their anthems of dissatisfaction. As for the future the band is currently working on a new full length album set to be released in late 2011 and will be setting out on tour in early 2012.
