The Ampersand

About me:

Vol. III is here at last - bigger, better, and stuffed with brand new writers still dewey behind the ears and seasoned famous pros (rhymes with cilly bollins). Vol. III shivers with barely contained brilliance, doing that shockey thing to your fingers when you don't touch something metallic first. Read some samples from our novelist and poet with work due out soon on Ampersand Books. We like words. We like grand words & ugly words & vulgar words, words that hold down three jobs & words you only find under rocks in graveyards under a full moon (& apparently we like clichéd images.) We like words that run red lights. We like conjugation in the name of aesthetic. We sometimes like stories where something happens & we also like stories that end where they begin. We like writing that takes us deeper into life, not away from it. We like artists who know the difference between the beautiful & the merely pretty. We like conscious awareness of grandiosity & we like writing who knows who it is, has been around & has got some stories to tell.
