Add to My Profile | More Videos The Atlanta Institute of Music provides the non-beginning student (BASS,DRUMS,GUITAR and RECORDING ARTS) with the instructional environment to develop their musical talents, while acquiring the skills to become a professional musician. The curriculum accomplishes this through classes and private instruction, audio and video labs, and live clinics featuring some of today's most well-known and innovative artists and industry professionals. AIM instructors are professionals whose work experience and education have prepared them to teach the demanding curriculum. AIM welcomes students from diverse backgrounds, and does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, age or religion. Housed in a 25,000 square-foot facility comprised of classrooms, recording studios, library, private lesson rooms, performance halls, and digital practice areas, the Atlanta Institute of Music offers a fast-paced learning environment, outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment. The curriculum offers instrument-specific study focused on performance, as well as reading, notation and theory. QUICK FACTS FINANCIAL AID: -Federal Financial Aid is available to qualifying students -AIM administers Stafford Loans, Parent Plus Loans and Pell Grants -Our financial aid advisor will help you determine your eligibility JOB PLACEMENT: -We are required to assist our graduates with job placement -We work closely with major and independent labels, booking agencies, management, music stores, cruise ships and churches to place graduates ACCREDITATION/CERTIFICATION: -AIM is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education -AIM is certified by Georgia Nonpublic Post-Secondary Education Commission -AIM is recognized by the US Department of Education GRADUATE CREDENTIALS/CREDITS: -AIM graduates receive a certificate of musicianship upon graduation -AIM credits are accepted at many universities across the country, though they may require proficiency testing EDUCATION TAX CREDITS: -Your attendance at AIM may entitle you to up to a $1500 tax credit PREPARATORY (PREP) CLASSES: -For students who require additional preparation before entering school, Prep Classes, consisting of 3 weekly 2-hour sessions are offered, free of charge, before each quarter begins. ENROLLMENT -AIM enrolls continuously throughout the year -Information on the application process is enclosed DISCOVER YOUR CREATIVE POTENTIAL AIM provides students with the tools necessary for rapid progress, expanding their repertoire and creating new professional possibilities. As a confident and literate musician, the student will be capable of handling more demanding and better paying jobs in a competitive market. Students perform twice weekly in band situations, where they are encouraged to experiment. Combining what they learn with their own personal styles, students build confidence and unlock their creative potential. SUCCESS WITHIN YOUR REACH Designed for working students, or those who pursue other activities during the day, classes are held Monday through Thursday from 6pm – 11pm. Students attending full-time, 22 hours per week, will complete the 900 clock-hour program in one year. Part-time students, attending a minimum of 15 hours per week, will finish within two years. All Recording Program classes take place between 10:00am and 6:00pm Monday-Friday. Students will supplement classes with on-campus lab time. AIM’s library provides reference materials including periodicals, recordings of clinics, and instructional videos, which complement lessons learned in class. Practice stations are also equiped with Garageband Recording Software and Audio Slow Down Technology. Practice areas provide equipment for the student to play along with videos and CDs. AIM's library is open Monday through Thursday 11am - 11pm and Friday 11am - 7pm AIM PROVIDES THE TOOLS THE REST IS UP TO YOU!
