Rich Jones has been obsessed with electronic music since hearing Jean Michel Jarre piped through a large soundsystem at the London Planetarium, aged just 5. Since then, his love of atmospheric electronic music has grown and grown, until he inevitably discovered the hedonistic joys of House and Techno at the age of 17, in 1997. Djing since 1998, having held a number of residencies for local nights such as The House Of Missdemeanor (under the alias Dj Aura), and more recently Portsmouth night Science, Rich began dabbling in producing around late 2001, and got into it seriously in 2002. The aim has always been to hypnotise, and encourage people to get lost in the music - a ticket to the 'zone'. A self taught producer, Rich has carved his own unique niche in the international House and Techno scene, and continues to deliver the music he is increasingly recognised for. Tribal, dense, layered, hypnotic, deep, percussive, melodic, energetic, - these are all words fit to describe his signature sound, whether it be in a house context, or a pulse racing peak-time techno context, and everywhere inbetween. Techno for House heads, and House for Techno heads, as he likes to put it! Blending his love of spaced out, funked up, stoney deep house, atmospheric music of all varieties, and rolling, hypnotic percussive Techno, Rich continues to create unique, genre-defying dancefloor tools for aural consumption. 2010 looks set to be his biggest year yet: with his 3rd EP on Alan Fitzpatricks inimitable 8-Sided Dice label dropping soon (after the roaring, Beyer hammered success of Choronzon); further releases on Reset Robots Roomba imprint; an EP on Trapez; deep selections dropping on Greta Cottage Workshop (home of Rennie Foster, Michael J Collins (Wolf + Lamb) and Nicholas Jaar (Wolf + Lamb) among others); and a remix of Harvey Mckay for the legendary Soma Records, dropping in June 2010........ ..
