..Things change...everything and everyone, all the time. Even if we do not see it or feel it for a long time, they are changing right now. Like it or not. Admit it or not. Feel it or not. I am changing, you are changing, our context is changing, and our planet is changing. Change is one of the very few absolutes and it will happen with or without us... .. Long ago people changed and became sedentary and soon became addicted to comfort, addicted to the belief we are superior rather than acknowledging our participation and place in a cycle of life, not on the top of the chain but being content with being in it in the first place. That is the beauty, not that we can manipulate just about everything, not our insatiable desire for power over each other, over nature, over other life forms... .. And on it went for thousands of years until we sit here now. Me typing and you perhaps reading if you are not as impatient as they tell you that you are... .. And one day we will be cut down from 6+ billion to a much more meager and sustainable number. We can only expand so far and expansion is the only way this modern system can sustain. Whether or not we wish to face it, prepare for it, aid the collapse, or just stand idly pushing papers and propping up man-made gods... .. Changing...changing...changing. I think it is easier at this point for me to say what I do not support rather than what I do. I do not support this naive, megalomaniac and egotistical lifestyle fueled by consumerism, division, and isolation. I do not support all the disease and famine that this path leaves in its wake. I do not support the bi-products of these prisons... .. I want more than this but will not profess to having an exact plan of how to get it. I dare say be skeptical of any who do. I have ideas, much like you I am sure. I believe we are all unabashedly hypocritical and paradoxical. I believe we must always remain critical, even of the ones who claim justice and have their hearts in the best of places. I have an idea that maybe when we cast aside all of our divisions over what we eat, where we shop, who we fuck, or what tactics we employ, that maybe we could become something beautiful. I don't want to be an anarchist. I want to be a beautiful person who cries, loves, hates, and can be comfortable doing it... .. That is a long, long way off. In the journey to getting there though I came to believe and realize that none of us are innocent. I am not. You are not.
