Bio
Started in the winter of 2003 from the ashes of two bands (Sovereign and Unlucky Bastard), Blackmarket Bodyparts took on the scene as if it owed them something. A 5 piece METAL band that didn't fit the mix of "new-metal" had a lot to prove. From playing fire-halls to headlining at Club Laga to playing packed shows Saturday nights at Nick's Fat City, Blackmarket began the rampage. Through the past few years BMBP have gained numerous fans of all ages. In 2005 BMBP did a guest spot on California University of Pennsylvania's Sunday night metal show, "The Boiler Room". They also recorded the main theme that is still being used. They have also sold over 500 shirts and other merchandise as well as over 700 of their 2004 EP "Making a Mockery of Life". Opening for acts such as Chimaira, Machine Head, Full Blow Chaos, Misery Index, Exodus, Macabre and more only added to their list of accomplishments. In 2008, drummer Jeff Brandt left Pittsburgh to move to South Carolina. As unfortunate as this was, Jeff still returned home twice a year to visit family and play shows with Blackmarket. The "replacement drummer search" proved to be very difficult... until early 2010 when Matt Kleeman; long time friend and drummer joined the fold. 2010...a new beginning and a new lease on the Pittsburgh metal scene. Blackmarket are currently rehearsing and writing with their new drummer. Look for live shows and new music coming in 2010. -
