Influenced by rappers such as Will Smith, Kanye West and Eminem, Blazin is a UK Rap artist with sights set on breaking free of the urban tag affixed to British rap music. .... Despite being predicted low(ish) grades at school, Blazin came away with 10 GCSE’s and 3 A-levels. ( I aint fick!!) He then decided to take time to study a one-year music production course in Brighton, (15 minutes down the road from his home in Haywards Heath!) to follow his passion for music, with his close friend and producer, Phocus. He had “freestyled” in rap battles at school and continually mocked his friends with witty rhymes and verses but it was here where Blazin started to take music seriously. It was at the start of 2007 that things started to take off for the pair and Blazin quickly found himself performing in various venues around the Brighton area to a rapidly growing fan base. .... Through his Myspace page he started taking bookings around the country performing alongside other big names in the scene like Chipmunk, N-Dubz, Tinchy Stryder, Bashy, Skinnyman, Sway, Wiley, Tinie Tempah & Fundamental. Even more impressively he made history in 2008 by becoming the first UK rapper ever to perform Sat Her Majesty’s Theatre in London. .... Aside from becoming known for his larger than life, energy filled stage performances, he soon made a name for himself on the pirate radio circuit by ringing up radio stations unannounced and generally causing controversy and havoc, much to the amusement of many a radio DJ. By the middle of 2008 Blazin had established himself as the most popular rapper in the area. He was also able to reach an ever-expanding worldwide audience through the Internet. The popularity of which was made clear when he made the myspace number one unsigned rap artist and continually hit the myspace charts with every song he uploaded. .... Due to the attention created from being regarded by Myspace as one of the most sought after rap artists in the country Blazin has had no shortage of offers. Having turned down a number of small management and label offers, Blazin decided to do things himself and use the knowledge he had acquired from his Commercial Music Business degree to release his first single “I Believe.” After recruiting local talent and friend Kate Fletcher, Blazin collaborated with Brit award winning producer and songwriter Simon Ellis and after a morning in the studio “I Believe” was born. .... With artists such as N-Dubz, Tinchy Stryder & Chipmunk all successfully making the switch to the mainstream, Blazin is ever more determined to be part of the next wave of UK artist to break through.
