Born Alton Bonner on January 31, 1973 in the Kingston, Jamaica suburb of St. Andrew, Shepherd hails from a musical family that includes his older brother Pliers (from the deejay/singer duo Chaka Demus and Pliers of “Murder She Wrote” fame), Singer Spanner Banner (best known for his mid 90s hit “Life Goes On”) and Richie Spice (best known for his many hits such as “Earth A Run Red”, "Brown Skin" and in recent time "Di Plane Land") and younger brother Snatcha Lion. Snatcha Lion comes with powerful sounds such as "Love Boat", "Loving With The Energy", and "Righteousness". Shepherd has been honing his skills not so quietly for some time with lyrics that are insightful, relevant, and often relates to life and relationship, observed with the honest eyes of a child, yet processed and returned to his audience with uncommon maturity and melody. ..
