  • Bio

Raised in the cultural hotbed of New York City, Break Science's Adam Deitch and Borahm Lee fuse the city's rich musical legacy--jazz, funk, soul-- with a deep-rooted connection to create their own take on modern electronic music. Armed with Deitch's thunderous breakbeat style on the drums and Lee's seasoned trip-hop/dub aesthetic on keyboards and laptop, their instrumental styles are perfectly interwoven within their soulful, banging, and extremely danceable tracks. Break Science's debut EP, Further Than Our Eyes Can See, consists of thought-provoking, highly-textured, bass-pumping songs that include verses from some of today's most conscious artists: Brooklyn's Talib Kweli and Jahdan Blakkamoore, Sierra Leone's Bajah and India's Falu. The sound is fresh and original and is bound to make its mark on the modern musical landscape.

  • Influences

....avant guard electronic classical music, and dusty funk and soul records that are stuck in some moldy basement somewhere... 80s and 90s non violent hip hop....like organized konfusion and gangstarr....90s rave culture meets the future...boards of canada, dj shadow, roots manuva, flyamsam, rusko, dj premier, havoc, rza, diamond d, pete rock, the whole colorado scene....dark room parties in bk... to be continued....
  • Sounds Like

Sounds like nothing else out there...who's combining live breakbeats with official dub sounds and slamadelic, ever manipulated tracks that make the dancefloor on fyre...just sayin...we tryin to do sumn new...we ain't tryin to sound like anything we or U have heard....that was the main focus...
