you'll discover that kevin and drew started the pbr trend back in 1997...
i'm not sure who wrote this response to this salon article and hey, i've got peoria pride too...and it's true they were drinking pbr in 1997....but i highly doubt that people were following those two...i mean have you seen them?

why today? it's hard to say why 2 years can pass without a post, then suddenly here it is.
knowing myself, guilt is the likely inspiration.... so here's what's going on and what's been going on.... 1. working on and recording new material...we really are... we've got approx 1/2 albums worth of songs tracked out by greg norman in chicago.. have another 1/2 ready to be tracked in august.. and have plans to do some mixing in september by adam pierce (of swirlies/mice parade notoriety).
2. played a bunch of shows...most recently being summerfest (which for some reason impresses milwaukeans, though i'd never heard about it 'til i moved here..it's apparently the biggest music fest in the world) we played right across from john cougar mellencamp. that's right, who on the coasts would know the might of midwest rock if it weren't for jcm. the only band i actually went to see at the fest was the zombies....you probably guessed i like the zombies.
3. had a lot of local press r/t to summerfest (see above)
4. we're playing a festival i'm actually excited about on aug 23 .kalamashoegazer..in you guessed it-kalamazoo... it's featuring some great bands including the glowfriends and panda riot among many... we're also being featured on a cd related to the fest that will include shoegaze idols like secret shine, tears run rings,
brother kite etc etc... april morris and the glowfriends are outdoing themselves as usual... we're also playing a couple shows with SUREFIRE BROADCAST (who are brilliant)
5. drew has bought and sold more equipment than i can log over the last two years..look for him on craig's list...i'm sure he's selling something you want.
6. we finally put WESTWARD on our player ......
7. summerfest videos on you tube (thanks to jake jeremiah) note the inclusion of the song DEAR TO ME written by matthew welchel and our earlier incarnation...trabbi escape
