  • Bucky Covington’s New Single Strikes A Chord With Country Radio

NASHVILLE, TN / March 17, 2010 – With a self-titled debut album that has gone on to sell nearly 500 thousand copies and a string of top 10 hits including “A Different World,” “It’s Good To Be Us” and “I’ll Walk,” Lyric Street recording artist Bucky Covington is now back at country radio with his brand new single “A Father’s Love (The Only Way He Knew How).”  In just 2 short weeks, the track is already striking a huge chord with programmers, fans and critics alike.  The buzz amongst country radio is that this is Bucky’s best song yet and the overwhelmingly positive chatter keeps coming in.

"It's the best thing Bucky has ever done!  Powerful."
    -- Rick McCracken, WSOC/Charlotte

"Thanks for smearing my makeup this morning!  What a song!  Drying my tears and doing an airshift."
    -- Tanya Burko, WGGY/Wilkes-Barre

“Tears literally dripped from my eyes as it played.  A PERFECT song!"
    -- Stoney Richards, WDSY/Pittsburgh

    "A #1 song...and I don't say that lightly.  His best song, yet!"
    -- Carol Hughes, KFDI/Wichita

“It touched me and hit home, which it will do with many...you have a hit.”
    -- Bob Mitchell WLFF/Myrtle Beach

Written by Liz Hengber, Thom Shepherd and Steve Williams, this heartfelt mid-tempo song tells the story of a father who shows his children how much he loves them by taking care of all the little things in life.  The record is from his forthcoming sophomore album, I’m Alright, to be released in fall 2010 on Lyric Street Records.  Recently, “A Father’s Love,” was featured as an exclusive FIRST LISTEN on PEOPLE.COM and can still be previewed on the site.

Bucky Covington is currently on the road visiting radio and playing tour dates all across the country with upcoming shows in Fletcher, N.C. (3/26), Mt. Airey, N.C. (3/27), Florence, S.C. (4/2), Midway Park, N.C. (4/9) and Mt. Laurel, N.J. (4/10) in the coming weeks.

  • Bucky’s has a surprise guest at his show in Jersey last night

Last night, March 11, 2010 at his show in New Jersey, Bucky was all amped up to play the WKMK Thunder 98.5 live show at the Shark Finn Inn in Forked River, New Jersey.  Bucky made it through about 30 minutes of his show when he had a special guest arrive.  The local Police.  Apparently the standing room only crowd was more than the Fire Marshall would allow, not to mention the several hundred fans waiting outside trying to get in.  Bucky and the band had to take a break until the Inn was able to remove enough fans to meet the capacity requirement.

“I have to admit I wasn’t sure what the police were coming after us for” laughed Bucky.  “But it was great, it felt like Home!”

With the Fire Marshall now happy, Bucky returned to the stage and finished off a rocking show for the energized crowd, albeit not quite as large.  For those of you that got left out, not to worry, Bucky will be back in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey on April 10th.
