Jerry Manning has been writing rhymes since age 13 (2003) while living in Mannheim Germany. He was apart of a group called "breakem off boys" though they never recorded a song, they had an ample amount of material. Once entering HS (2004) the group parted ways and only Jerry and his friend Mike were still writing music. During this time he rapped under the name "Shake the great" which later changed to "Carolina Kadet". During class Jerry would write rhymes in hopes of becoming a star, at the time it was more about the fame than the music. .. .. In 2005 Jerry moved to Killeen/Harker Heights Tx and started a new chapter of his life. He knew that Texas was big on mixtape style music and he was already familiar with the legends in texas and what the music sounded like. He recorded his 1st track at the age of 15, but this time under the name C.B (Carolina Boi). He also started producing and formed a group with fellow killeen artist Craig Ridgle (Prince Of The Ghetto aka P.O.T.G.) who hailed from Houston. After getting kicked out of school and placed in to alternative school C.B started to expand his music and fan base by spitting bars every chance he had. Being a kid from the burbs it was rare to find someone of his raw lyrical talent, this was the 1st thing that caught people's attention. In March 2006 he returned to public school with a new style of rapping and his 1st mixtape with P.O.T.G. entitled "Ville 2 The Ward". .. .. After the buzz was created for the Mixtape he quickly started working on a solo project. With Craig being in "legal" trouble he had no one to fall back on so he had to stand on his own. While working at Mc Donalds during the summer he saved up enough money for a new mic and recorded 20+ tracks over that summer. His 1st solo mixtape was entitled "Carolina Colors Vol.1" (2006). This mixtape was sold and passed around at school, because he wasnt the most popular of kids, it didnt sell much, so giving it out free was in order. .. .. The fact that he was being slept on led to him putting in more work with his pen and completing his 2nd mixtape "Carolina Colors Vol.2" (2007). He linked up with 2 other artists (1 producer/rapper "Swisha" and 1 rapper "Nick Brown") during the course of the mixtape and formed a bond, which would later lead into the creation of a label "Hotweight". Nick Brown and C.B formed a bond during the time "Carolina Colors Vol.2" was being made and collabed on a couple projects....this would later lead to the formation of the group "Soopah Smash Bros" .. .. During the summer of 2007 Hotweight gained more attention and more artists...like most groups or labels...the bond didnt last long, every one went off and did solo work and eventually Swisha left everyone high and dry because in his opinion...."we would never make it out of killeen, and we sucked, and no one would feel us" .. .. in 2008 C.B and Nick B had their 1st performance in front of record label, and music industry judges...they passed through to the 2nd round, and then flopped! They lost to artists who really didnt have better music, but this was a lesson learned. At this time C.B and Nick B finished their 1st mixtape as a group, "Kill 2 the Ville Vol.1" which gained a tiny buzz amongst peers .. .. Nick brown went off to college and C.B was forced to get back on his solo career, he had some major set backs in his plans....but in 2009 he released "The Laziest Mixtape You've Ever Heard" which grabbed a huge buzz and now has over 3,000+ downloads and caught the attention of bloggers and websites. This was major considering the comment from Swisha about "about not being good and never getting out of killeen" I guess if you sleep on someone long enough they will be forced to make things happen. This spawned the new name change C.B TV, the tv part came from lyrics mentioned in his song "revenge of the nerd" which stated "hoes and lame niggas say they can not stand him/but yet they RECORD his swag and ON DEMAND him/Thats why im C.B TV/This is not a CD its a DVD" . With no hesitation he started on his 4th solo mixtape entitled "Empty Soda Cans & Minivans" this tape would be different from anything he's ever worked on. He ventured off and started doing pop, screamo, and punk rock songs, as well as hip hop. The pressure to not be cliche was a factor in his change, he didnt want to make another tape that sounded like his last. The buzz around the mixtape caught the ears of reupspot.com which lead to many posts about him, even an interview. The tape made a pretty big splash and has over 4,000+ downloads and was featured on some blogs. .. .. During 2009 Nick Brown and C.B TV came together to start on their 2nd installment "Kill 2 The Ville Vol.2" which has been recorded and will drop in 2010. C.B TV started on his solo album...which is entitled "Endless Waltz" (2/19)...he wrote/produced/engineered the whole album because he wanted it to sound the way he envisioned it. He started his own website www.emptysodacans.com to promote his music and his love for art/fashion/anime.
