Born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI , Comedian Dave Jones has become a one of the most sensational new talents in stand up comedy. At the young age of 13 Dave Jones debut his comedic talent at the Wealthy Theater in Grand Rapids, MI in which he hosted a step show for The Grand Rapids Ivylettes, and it he didn’t stop there he also was featured on 1680am Jams. Being only 13 he could not work too many nightclubs so he kept he talent sharp by participating in Talent Shows, Special Programs, and School Plays while attending Grand Rapids Central High School and later transferring to the School or Arts Program at Union High where he Graduated in 2005. Once 18 he moved to New Jersey for school and to pursue his comedy dreams, after one year there and performing at colleges like Kean University (Union, NJ) and opened up for big names like, Try Songz , Remy Ma, Beanie Segal, and 36 Mafia. After moving back to Grand Rapids, MI in 2006 to be closer to family his passion for comedy was not lost, so he performed on many Grand Rapids stages like Tailgaters Sports Bar, The Whiskey Lounge, The Social Exchange, and Dr. Grins Comedy Club. This Past March Dave Jones auditioned for “Showtime at Apollo!!” at the infamous Apollo Theater in New York, and shortly after received news that he was chosen to perform on their show Aug. 26th 2009, where he will be on the same stage where entertains such as Dave Chappelle, James Brown, Lauryn Hill, and Michael Jackson and the Jackson Five just to name a few performed.
