MISSION STATEMENT: At this Open MiC we welcome all genres of music and all styles of self-expression including spoken word, instrumental or lyrical (folk, hip-hop, soul, reggae, rock, blues, etc.). We recognize that we all come from different personal experiences and values that are important to our craft. Through our artistic expression, together we can create a space that is comfortable, diverse, and collaborative in an environment that is safe and positive for women and men of all ages. Let us use our art to rise above social injustices such as racism, sexism, homophobia (fear or degradation of gays, lesbians or transgender), or misogyny (hatred, exploitation, objectification or abuse of women). Please join us in creating a new world of peace and understanding.
