    ...... .... ..DARION MOVASSEGHI began playing drums at the age of 5. He began studying with drummer, Cliff Hackford. He performed in both jazz and concert band from elementary school through high school. At the junior high and high school levels he achieved perfect and near perfect scores at the NYSSMA competitions, resulting in his acceptance to perform in the All County and All State Jazz and Orchestral Ensembles of New York State. He then went on to study music at the college level and achieved a bachelor’s degree in Music. Darion has 26 years of playing experience, 11 of them as a professional. He has spent most of those years performing as a Session Musician both in live and recorded settings with various artists and performing groups and has also performed with at the world’s top night clubs with the world’s top DJs For the past 4 years in addition to studio work, he has been street performing as a solo Bucket Drummer and with his percussion group NYC Players, in New York City as well as worldwide in various venues and events. His media appearances include: FLEET BANK, “STEVE HARVEY’S BIG TIME,” WB MORNING NEWS & NY1 NEWS .... .............. ARIAN plays mixing boards like a musical instrument. As a musician, vocalist, and DJ, Arian combines tremendous preformance ability with intricate mixing skills. His experience as a musician translates flawlessly to the DJ booth and gives him an edge in an electronic music scene saturated with so much of the same..... In 1989 at age 14, Arian started singing and playing guitar. He continued to study music throughout High school and started his first metal band in at age 17. Switching from the guitar to the bass and performing lead vocals, Arian brought tremendous energy to the stage..... Arian played in 3 other bands over the next 10 years, each with different styles, broadening his musical skills and style. .... From 2001-2002, Arian was the lead vocalist in a 10 piece Latin/funk cover band "Los Otros"..... From 2000-2005, Arian was the lead vocalist and bass player for "Surphing Matylda", a ska/funk/reggae band that in 2001 earned a recording contract with Taj Pro Recordings, in Santa Fe, NM. CEO Tom Muller (ex Keyboardist for Chuck Berry) signed a recording contract with Arian to produce 2 cds that they completed in 2002. Arian and his band built their reputation as a heavy-hitting group, playing gigs all over the state as their songs became hits on local radio stations..... Unfortunately, Surphing Matylda broke up, and Arian moved to Waikiki, Hawaii where developed an unforseen passion for Electronic Music..... Hooked on the new electronic sound, Arian moved to Los Angeles, and started learning how to spin from his DJ friends. Picking up techniques and skills with incredible speed and fluidity due to his strong musical background, Arian quickly gained a loyal fan base and residencies at some of LA's hottest nightclubs: Funxion, Avalon, then Versus. In the fall of 2008 Arian won Humanitaire's "Battle of the DJ's" at Avalon, and soon after, met a percussionist: Darion, from NYC. The duo have now teamed up to create a unique blend of funky rythyms and latin beats that keep the dancefloors packed. What makes Arian stand out is his ability to play to his crowd, keep the energy level high, and put on a show - a true performer. .. .. .. ..
