Check out Travisbaptist.org and click on Pastor's Corner, you might find some info there. Interests include the Word, Sudoku, camping, the sea, the mountains, dark chocolate, monkeys, the stooges, and I love listening to old radio dramas, especially Suspense and old scifi like Escape and X-1.Music
I t's strange. These days, unless I personally know who is singing, it's not impressive. Todd Walters, Mike Mata, and a whole bunch of other "nobodies" who just sing from the heart. Oooh, and the greatest musical talent of them all: Alisha Michelle; she's a vocalist, and also learning piano. If you're still reading, I can admit to liking old Charlie Daniels stuff, Marty Robbins, Louis Prima, Styx, Kansas (specifically, Leftoverture and Point of Know Return--two of the greatest albums ever made). Movies
Blazing Saddles, Open Range, Monty Python, Passion of the Christ, Robert Mitchum movies, Veggie Tales, Pirates of the Caribbean #1, Goonies. I like the spoof movies like Naked Gun series and Hot Shots. My favorite scene of all time is the little dog on speed in "There's Something About Mary". It's actually the only part of that movie I like.Television
The Office is the only current thing I go out of my way to watch. Green Acres, Bullwinkle, Spongebob, UFC fightnight on Spike. THE 3 Stooges. I like to watch football, college and pro. I only like to watch baseball & basketball in the playoffs. I prefer TCM to HBO.Which is why I don't and won't have HBO.Books
(besides Bible): Visioneering by Andy Stanley Donald Carson--Commentary on John Paul, the Spirit, and the People of God by Gordon Fee Walter Kaiser--Quest For Renewal (OT revivals). Fiction--Dean Koontz, Louis L'amour, I've read more of their books than any other. I like Robert Heinlein's "juvenile" sci-fi books (Citizen of the Galaxy, StarBeast, etc), not his "adult" ones (Stranger in a strange land, etc). Two recent books I read by Alan P. Ross, Holiness to the Lord (Leviticus), and Recalling the Hope of Glory (worship). Man that guy is excellent.Heroes
Jerome & Moses Horowitz (Curly & Moe), my parents (50 years of marriage), the people who've allowed me to be their pastor in Lewisville, Palestine, and Corpus Christi, Juan Francisco Hernandez and his late wife Elga and the rest of the family in Honduras. Nobody famous, just a big pile of nobodies who love Jesus.
