Pup Aid 2010

A classic Gibson Epiphone Casino guitar signed by David, along with Eric Clapton, Roger Daltrey, Liam Gallagher, Mick Jones, Brian May, Gary Moore, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards and Paul Weller, was auctioned at Bonhams in Knightsbridge, London on Wednesday 15 December, raising £2,650 for Pup Aid, the brainchild of TV vet and animal campaigner, Marc Abraham.

The annual UK Pup Aid event aims to increase public awareness of puppy farms, or mills, where pups are bred in large numbers for commercial profit. This cold-hearted operation involves the pups being parted from their mothers too early, transported around the country to dealers, and then sold online and through newspapers, as well as in pet shops.

Due to lack of socialisation, stimulation, affection and quite often veterinary care during their formative weeks, many leave the puppy farms suffering from health problems and hereditary conditions which often require considerable and costly veterinary or behavioural treatment to fix - if it can be fixed.

DVD: Remember That Night... (2007)

David's double-disc set, documenting the On an Island tour.

Disc one includes 23 songs, all of them recorded live at London's historic Royal Albert Hall in May 2006. Disc two is full of extras, including bonus tracks, promo videos, documentaries... and more.

A Blu-ray version is also available in Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Latvia, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Sweden, the UK, Ukraine and USA.

Studio album: On an Island (2006)

David's third solo album, released on his 60th birthday.

With orchestrations by renowned Polish composer, Zbigniew Preisner, and a luminous production, assisted by Roxy Music's Phil Manzanera, the album is David's most successful to date.

Guest artists include David Crosby and Graham Nash (harmonies), Robert Wyatt (cornet), Alasdair Molloy (glass harmonica), Caroline Dale (cello), and Pink Floyd's Richard Wright, on Hammond organ.

The songs tell of shared experiences; from the hauntingly beautiful title track, to the meditative 'The Blue', as well as the heavier blues number, 'This Heaven'. Listen to all three above by selecting them on the Music Player.
