My name is Diogo Oliveira I'm a bassist , composer and musical producer. from the city of Niteroi, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I started the musical career playing keyboard at the age of 9 and later on i turned to Bass. I studied at Villa-Lobos Music School and University of Rio De Janeiro, some years later, i had the honer to be invited to play with the 6 times Grammy nominated:Debi Nova, Liset Alea, The Pastorius band, the Grammy winners Sammy Figueroa and Felipe Lamoglia, Luka , Cris Delano, Nilze Carvalho, Marcos Ariel, Zé Paulo Backer, Rose Max, Brazilian Voices, George Tandy orchestra, Pablo Cano, Cat Shell, the choreograph Katherine Kramer and others. My musical inclinations has nothing to do with chops but with the music! Sounds Like
The 29-year-old proudly claims Fort Lauderdale's last great jazz bassist, the late Jaco Pastorius, as an influence, but has liberally applied a more global influence. While his compositions bear the rhythms of his homeland, there are also measured doses of electronic and soul influences. Rather than letting the bass take a rhythmic back seat, Diogo delivers nimble- fingered licks and funky slaps that often steal the melodic show. His Cd Daqui Pro Mundo by the time recorded as DIOGO BROWN, it was released at the Arturo Sandoval Jazz Club , Miami Florida 2007. The Cd features like:Mike Orta, Oscar Salas, Jean Caze, James Mc Crevy and others.
