REVIEW: LAZY CHAMELEON 10-30-09 & WILLOUGHBY BREWING CO. 10-31-09
Lazy Chameleon 10-30-09
this was our 4th time here and I as was making the trip down here I was thinking that I hoped we had a good show because it was the night before Halloween so a lot of people would be going out that night instead and that it wasn't that busy the last time we were here and if it sucked, that would make my 2 ½ hour drive home(by myself) suck even more...We got down there and set up and had a little while to kill and there were people dressed up but it wasn't that full at 10:00 so we waited until 10:15 to start getting dressed and we hit the stage a little after 10:30. They were having a Pimps & Ho's party which is perfect for us and that helped set the tone for the evening. Many thanks to all those who attended! Here are the scores:
Load in/out: 10– right up to the door and Russ helped!
Ease of putting up Backdrop: 9.5- thanks to the 1988 screws!
Sound: 9 -Mike had my monitor dialed in!
Crowd (attendance): 8.5 -since the potential for more people to be jammed in exists here, I can't give it a higher score. Although Rob and Matt were very happy!
Crowd (enthusiasm): 10- lots of Pimps and Ho's and 70's outfits!
Our Performance: 10-we played great tonight!
Backstage: 6- we change in the office area!
Food afterward: 8-Mountain Dew, Chips, cookies, M&M's and sunflower seeds to keep my self awake!
Pay afterward: 10-thanks Matt!
Our next show at the Lazy Chameleon is Dec.11th!
Willoughby Brewing Co. 10-31-09
This was our second year in a row here and Saturday nights are usually pretty good here anyways but there were a lot of good bands playing around Lake County tonight so I wasn't sure what to expect...I was paying tribute to three of my favorite bands tonight so I did 3 costume changes! First as a tribute to Disco Inferno I dressed like Tony Manero from Saturday Night Fever. Then for the second set I dressed as a Nerd for the Spazmatics and finally for the third set I dressed like Rob Steele for a tribute to my bro's in 1988! Tonight definitely topped last year as 90% of the people came in costume! The WBC was slammed and there was a line waiting to get in...Thanks to all the people who came out to party with us!let's get to the scores:
Load in/out: 7 – the ramp!
Ease of putting up Backdrop: 9.5- again, thanks to 1988 for the wood screws!
Sound: 10 -great job Bill!
Crowd (attendance): 11 -they stopped letting people in!
Crowd (enthusiasm): 11- the costumes, the ladies, the dance floor!
Our Performance: 11-great entertainment tonight!
Backstage: 5- the party room was occupied until midnight so I changed by the ramp!
Food afterward: 7-cold pizza with Bill after the gig!
Pay afterward: 10-Cash at the end of the night!
Our next show at the WBC is Dec. 12th !
This week we return to the Avenue in Mentor on Friday and we make our debut at Jocko's in Broadview Heights!
Look for us on Fox 8 in the Morning on Friday November 20th!

REVIEW: LOOSE MOOSE 10-23-09 & BONEYARD 10-24-09
Current mood:
........
tiredLoose Moose 10-23-09We haven't been here since June so I wasn't sure what to expect...We are very fortunate to play every weekend and we have some of the greatest fans( because without your support, the clubs wouldn't continue to book us) but 1 of 2 things happen when you play a certain venue and your dates are far between. Either the place will be busy because the people that frequent that establishment, haven't seen you there in a while or it will be dead because you don't play there enough to build up a local crowd...I left with the intention of getting there at my usual time but I was distracted and I missed the exit and the next exit was 5 miles down the freeway so I had to turn around and coming back north there wasn't an off ramp where I thought there would be so I had to go up to Broadway and turn around and go south again(you get the picture)and I had to pee bad so I stop at a Wendy's...Anyways I got there and the sound system was almost set up and the place was slow but I did notice a lot of RESERVED signs on the tables and that is a good sign. Let's just get to the scores:
Load in/out: 8- had the small guitar rig so I used my cart and got everything in one trip.Ease of putting up Backdrop: 0- every time we play here they have the big pull down projection screen going so I didn't bring the backdrop...Guess what wasn't pulled down tonight?Sound: 9- C&S!Crowd (attendance): 9- while we didn't have the fire Marshall come( as I was told happened last weekend when Spazmatics were here) the place was full!Crowd (enthusiasm): 9.5- dance floor full all night! Our Performance: 10- We rocked tonight!Backstage: 2- Could they at least put a curtain up so the people in the back booths can't see us get naked!Pay afterward: 10- Thanks Carl!Food afterward: 9- Taco Bell Volcano Burrito!
Boneyard 10-24-09It was a windy and cold day but I got here early to set up and get something to eat and when I got there it was dead and they didn't have the patio open so I walked around to open the gate to load in and had to move a couple of table out of the way. I really love the staff here as they know us now and really take care of us and they seem to be happy when we play here...I took my time and set up and watched some football on there Giant screens and had a great BLT! This place has a late crowd as we don't start until after 10:00 and I think most people know this by now so we got to hang out and talk with people before we went on. My barber(Joe Cordero) and his wife Donna came out and I hung out with them for a while(thanks Joe)and that was cool. We did a quick line check with the screen still down and hit the stage around 10:30 to a nice crowd. There were a lot of Hotties in the audience tonight! Here are the scores:
Load in/out: 3- no ramps, 2 sets of stairs, cold and windy, had the big rig so it took multiple trips, dark stage when I set up. I know I sound like I'm whining but that's what people don't see and that's why it would be nice to have a roadie!Ease of putting up Backdrop: 8- it's easy when you're there before the drummer sets up.Sound: 9- Frank had us dialed in!Crowd (attendance): 10- Saturday nights are off the hook!Crowd (enthusiasm): 10- even the rock dudes were in to it!Our Performance: 10- had a blast!Backstage: 8- Ice cold Miller Lites! all we need is a bathroom back there!Pay afterward: 10- Thanks Boneyard!Food afterward: 9- BK chicken sandwich!
This weekend is Halloween! Friday we make the trip to C-Bus to play the Pimps & Ho's costume party at the Lazy Chameleon. Then on Saturday we're at the Willoughby Brewing Co for our Second Annual Halloween Bash! If you missed it last year you won't want to miss it again! I'm going to do 3 costume changes!Much Luv,Sonny D Lite -
REVIEW: SCOUNDRELS 10-16-09 & PLATINUM HORSE 10-17-09

Tonight was T love’s birthday so I knew a few people that were coming to celebrate and to bring cake and balloons! I thought for sure this would turn into a drunk-fest but surprisingly it wasn’t. In fact it was one of our better performances and the night went by quickly. My BFF showed up and that was nice since she hasn’t been to a show in a while and for those who stayed to the end, you got to see T Love get Silly-Stringed as a birthday finale! Here are the scores:
Load in/out: 7- the double doors!
Ease of putting up Backdrop: 9- Push pins still in the wall!
Sound: 10- I’m giving a rare 10 because my monitor was great!
Crowd (attendance): 8- 9 the first 2 sets and a 7 the last set. Still a good night overall!
Crowd (enthusiasm): 9.5- dance floor packed all night!
Our Performance: 10- Great night tonight!
Back stage: 6-had to move stuff around in the storage room but it does have a bathroom!
Pay at the end of the night: 10- Thanks LInda!
Food Afterwards: 9- Taco Bell on W150th!
Platinum Horse ..10-17-09
This was our first time here but we had played the Crazy Horse in Bedford a couple of times so we kinda had an idea of what to expect tonight. This was their 10th anniversary so they had food, and balloon drops, ice sculptures, etc. I have to thank Dave Dennis from the Spazmatics for getting us the gig and being there to make sure everything was taken care of…The layout of the Platinum Horse was much better for us as they had a large main stage right in the center where we set up and that gave us a great view of the two set stages that the girls were dancing on! The rest of the details can not be shared in this blog. Let’s get to the scores.
Load in/out: 8- found the back door!
Ease of putting up Backdrop: 0- nothing but mirrors behind us!
Sound: 8- mike had it pumping after he fixed the power problem!
Crowd (attendance): 10- the place was packed!
Crowd (enthusiasm): 9- hard to tell if it was for us or the girls on stage for us!
Our Performance: 9- got thrown off at first because of the PA issue but we recovered nicely!
Back stage: 6-Little room off the ..VIP.. area!
Pay at the end of the night: 10- Thanks Tony!
Food Afterwards: 9- Taco Bell at Euclid and 91!
This Weekend: We’re back on the Eastside with a show at the Loose Moose on Friday and the Boneyard on Saturday! Come out and show some love!
Much Luv,

REVIEW: SLIM & CHUBBY'S 10-9-09 & THE CELLAR 10-10-09
Current mood:
........
chillSlim & Chubby's 10-9-09
I am amazed at this place because it is always packed and I see new faces every time we play here... I got there at my regular time and it was just the dinner crowd so it was a little slow but I think most people know by now that we start here around 10. We got a good sound check around 9:15 and then just chilled until it was time to hit the stage. I met some cool people who want us to play their fund-raiser and they had a bunch of hot ladies in their group that were dancing all night! Again tonight was a great night and there were lots of people celebrating birthdays, etc. Let's just get to the scores:
Load in/out: 7 – Got a spot up front since it was the dinner crowd when I got here.
Ease of putting up Backdrop: 8- push pins but you need long ones because the wall has carpet.
Sound: 9 -Mike had it pumping!
Crowd (attendance): 10 -Chubby was happy!
Crowd (enthusiasm): 10- the dance floor was full all three sets!
Our Performance: 10-we rocked tonight!
Backstage: 8- the office!
Food afterward: 9-I had Roast Beef Sandwiches for the band from an event at work!
Pay afterward: 10-Thanks Danny!
Next Slim & Chubby's Nov. 20th
The Cellar 10-10-09
I had a tough time just making it to the gig tonight as I only had 3 ½ hours of sleep and I was dosing off on the way to the show...the 1 ½ drive is the worst part of this gig but when I first started this band, that would have been a short drive as we use to play in Pittsburgh every Wednesday, and Buffalo every Saturday! The last time we were here they were still doing construction upstairs, so the Cellar was a little thrashed and saw dust was falling from the ceiling while we were playing, but it was all finished and the place looked great! They even fixed up the backstage with tables and chairs and Jamie had the full concert rig in the house. Here are the scores:
Load in/out: 7 – just a long trip back and forth!
Ease of putting up Backdrop: 10- very easy and Tim helped!
Sound: 9 -Jamie had it at concert level!
Crowd (attendance): 10 -Slammed with Hotties!
Crowd (enthusiasm): 10- Girls dancing on the stage!
Our Performance: 9-2 little miscues but overall great!
Backstage: 9.5- much better!
Food afterward: 8-Mountain Dew, Chips, cookies and sunflower seeds to keep my self awake!
Pay afterward: 6-Larry wasn't there so I had to wait for Tim to come down and that meant I didn't leave until almost 3:00am!
Next Cellar date Nov. 21rst!
This Weekend: Scoundrels on Friday and the 10th Anniversary Party at the Platinum Horse Men's Club in Brookpark!
Much Luv,Sonny D Lite

Thanks for all the 1988 props! We had a great weekend too, and I'll write about it soon! Our Halloween show 1 mile down Vine St. was packed too! I guess we were the games in town! Rob Steel? Really?
