Having have years of experience, and having played in clubs such as AMNESIA - IBIZA, EDEN NIGHTCLUB - IBIZA, LUSH! @ KELLYS - PORTRUSH, we have the experience and knowledge to help any up and coming DJ to reach its goal. But Dry Arch Studios provides so much more than JUST DJ'ing courses - with a fully designed recording studio capable of recording all kinds of genres - from Rock to Pop, Techno to Electro .. and with a fully equiped live room for vocalists and groups. WHATS INVOLVED IN THE COURSE?: Equipment: Getting to know your equipment (CD players / Vinyl turntables / Mixers / Effects) Comparing equipment to find your most comfortable setup Basics of Mixing: Working out the tempo of your records – (BPM) Matching tempos of records Mixing on CD players and Vinyl turntables Finding the first beat of the record Song Structure: Beats, Bars + Phrases Working out where you are in tune Relying on your memory and instincts Scratching: Scratching: Basic Scratching techniques. The Baby Scratch The Military Scratch The Crab Scratch The Flare Scratch EFX1000 : Learning to use the state of the effects unit used by superstar djs all over the world (EG. Eddie Halliwell, James Zabiela etc.) Integrating the effects unit into your performance. Working as a DJ: Marketing yourself in a smart/ professional manner. Exposing yourself (MUSICALLY!!) Dealing with DJ agencies Securing your first gig Playing to a live crowd Knowing what to expect Being prepared for the best / worst! Reading a crowd / dealing with requests.
