Bio
Born with the African name N'gai which means "Brave Warrior" in Swahili, LoneSoulJAH has worn quite a few hats in the music industry but the one that seems to fit him best is that of recording artist. The New York born, South Florida native started his relationship with music at the age of ten when he freestyled his first rhyme in the lunchroom of Fairway elementary school. Since then he has gone on to be an accomplished DJ under the name DJ Disciple 21, taking on duties spinning records in both mainstream and underground radio, nightclubs, international television as well as concert venues and organized festivals. During this period He would also get his 1st glimpse of the inner workings of the urban music market while working for Reggae distribution giant VP Records. The opportunity taught him the ins and outs of the record business as well as allowing him to form relationships with a large network of artists and radio personalities… Having paid his dues as a Manager at VP, a DJ and a television host, a spiritual awakening called him away from the music industry for a period of five years. Having seen 1st hand the negative effects of the socially irresponsible lyrical content of the music he was playing, he decided to permanently retire from his duties as a disc jokey. It was during this hiatus that he realized his true calling was to create an alternative to the music that was choking the airwaves of urban radio and television. With this calling on his heart he and two co-workers co-founded a gospel rap group called the FootSoulJahs. The trio began to write and record music with Mentor, Producer and Gospel singer Win "Uncle Win" Tompkins. Soon after recording began the three were well received as they performed at numerous church shows and events ministering to the impressionable young Hip-Hop generation. Only about a year after the group began they disbanded to pursue individual projects. Now a solo act, he took on the title of LoneSoulJAH signifying his emancipation from the group and began recording his premier project with Win Tompkins and Hip-Hop producer Walter "2Nice" Vega. Liberated from the restraints of the group, LoneSoulJAH found himself able to write and express his thoughts freely without compromise. This has brought about a variety of expression whether it be spiritual, political, satirical or extremely personal, his creativity seems to know no bounds! Jumping from rapping to singing or chanting in Jamaican patois in a heartbeat it's hard to predict what you'll hear next from this dynamically gifted writer and performer. At home on the stage, LoneSoulJAH has rocked the crowd everywhere from humble churches to packed stage shows for a broad diversity of music lovers increasing the demand for his performances each time. LoneSoulJAH's 1st solo project "the Burden of Knowledge", A hybrid of Hip-Hop, Reggae, Gospel and R&B is now near completion. The album set to be released by the newly formed NEW GENRE ENTERTAINMENT GROUP record label between late 2008 and early 2009. With this incredible compilation, LoneSoulJAH is poised to take an unsuspecting music world by storm! The charismatic, uncompromising performer credits GOD for his gifts and has no plans on taking them for granted… "In every child born lie the seeds of greatness! They merely need to be nourished in order to bloom to full potential…" - LoneSoulJAH .............. .............. .............. .... -

Sounds Like
Hip-Hop. Like Jesus with a Mic. Like what Selassi was trying to say and still would say if he were still here in the flesh. What Martin Luther Kings speeches would have sounded like If he were born in New York to a Jamaican father and an American mother in 1978(the same years as Hip-Hop).
