with Miguel Leiria Pereira » Project in duo, which shares new phonetic experiences between language and sound. While Etsuko Kimura's words, originally improvised in harmony with Miguel Leiria Pereira's music, pictures her personal visions and stories, her voice itself also performs as another musical source. And the melody of his contrabass projects sound-landscapes into a cinematic space, by mixing acoustic and processed sound in live. This project is the winner of 'Concurso de Projectos Artísticos' by Fundação Serralves, to be presented in 'Serralves em Festa 2008'.

Etsuko Kimura » Artist, born in Japan, educated in New York, stayed in Paris, currently lives and works in Lisbon. Her works of photography have been extensively recognized in numerous exhibitions in New York, Tokyo, and Lisbon. Recipient of prize from Nikon, honor from Fnac, and grant from Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.

B.A. in French Literature and M.A. in Art/Photography, both from New York University (NYU). Studied photojournalism in International Center of Photography (ICP) and architecture in Columbia University in New York.

Recently participating in experimental sound projects and performing in concerts. The project collaborated with a contrabassist is the winner of artistic contest by Serralves Foundation.
