Bio
Greg X. Volz (the 'X' is for Xavier) is best known as the lead vocalist for the legendary rock band Petra during their golden years (1977-1986)... .. An incredible rock singer with a 4-octave range, Greg Volz was offered the role of lead vocalist for REO Speedwagon in the 70s, but decided instead to join Petra. He spent most of the following decade using his vocal talents to give Petra their signature, arena-rock sound, performing an average of 160 concerts per year..... Petra deserves credit for demonstrating the viability of rock 'n' roll as a medium for Christian expression. They were among the first faith-based rock outfits to tour with extensive light shows and special effects. For many years, they were Christian music's best-selling band (over 6 million units sold); they were the only Christian act invited to play at the historic Farm Aid Festival; they were the subject of multiple 'greatest hits' compilations, as well as a tribute CD that featured Petra cover tunes by modern rock acts like Jars of Clay and Sixpence None the Richer; and they were the first Christian band to be enshrined in the Hard Rock Café. .... As a member of Petra, Greg X. Volz was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in the year 2000. 'In The Course Of Time', a 'best of' anthology of Greg X. Volz solo releases was released August 12, 2008. The compilation was preceded by a digital single featuring a version of the Aerosmith classic 'Dream On'. The forthcoming studio album 'God Only Knows' will be released February 2009. Co-produced with Petra bandmate John Lawry and featuring former members of Sonicflood, 'God Only Knows' marks a return to the rock sound that first made Greg X. Volz a pioneering artist on the vanguard of Contemporary Christian Music. .. -

Jesus died for our sins, He was buried, and on the third day He rose from the dead. Faith in this simple sentence plus absolutely nothing is what saves us and causes us to stand. Now, you either believe this, discount this, or oppose this.
Greg, you sound great! Good luck on your new album. Everybody reading this needs to get a copy! Good stuff!
Hey Buddy, dropped by to say HI:)
THANKS FOR ADDING BREAK OUT OF THE TRANCE GREG!!! HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!
Hey, thanks for the add.
I bought your new CD off ITunes and really enjoyed it, especially the older ones that brought back great memories and wonderful messages.
I was wondering if you might put some of your other songs up so we can add to our pages like: Break out of your Trance, Frontline, etc... They would be great home page themes.
Anyway, Thanks for the Add. I'm honored.
