About me:

I'm Dr Jim Schultz Owner of Thistle Chiropractic & Independent States Music & Sound where I manage Cortez and advise many other bands. At IS we strive to help quality bands become a success in the ever changing music industry. Having worked with some of the biggest names in the business, and worked with others along the way, my 20+ years in the industry has taught me a lot that I can pass on to others. And, lets not forget I'm still learning as things will always change and we must with them. I'm originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and now live in Helensburgh, Scotland. (West coast not far from Glasgow) Where I ply my trade as a Doctor of Chriopractic, as propraetor of Thistle Chiropractic, and also run Independent States Music & Sound; Where I Manage & advise bands, do sound engineering, PA & Lighting hire, as well as live & studio sound recording / editing not a lot of time left in the day to do much more but I do find time to get into a bit of trouble. I enjoy working as a Chiropractor but, my true passion is the music end of it. Having had the oppertunity to work with some of the biggest names in the industry, I find no better feeling then walking into an empty venue at 6am loading in, setting up, working the show, and loading out by 2am (if lucky) so that you make last orders. The faces of thousands fans having a great time you can't beat it. I'll never forget the years and days working at Summerfest, The Bradley Center, Palmer Auditorium, The SECC, Carling Academey and T in the Park etc. If you think I'll stop now forget it. There is still far to much fun to live & enjoy, music to listen to & things to learn.
