Most bands have a sound that either fits neatly into a specific subgenre of metal; or is an apparent hybrid, combining two or more styles in a way that is blatantly obvious to the astute listener. This is especially true of the vast pool of unsigned local acts that comprise the heavy metal underground. .. Innerfury is one of the few bands in the underground scene whose sound cannot be easily classified. The band fuses together the crunching aggression of thrash, epic melodicism of traditional metal, brutal intensity of death metal, and virtuosity of prog metal in a way that is seamless and natural; devoid of the over-the-top clichés many others embrace. Everything a metal fan loves can be found within Innerfury’s music: fast and complex riffs, crushing heaviness, soaring guitar harmonies, aggressive (yet creative) drumming, and straight-from-the-gut melodic vocals. All of these elements are combined into catchy, cohesive songs that are simultaneously vicious and ear friendly. .. In a live setting, Innerfury is a force to be reckoned with. The band has won over audiences in venues all throughout Southern California, opening for the likes of: Prong, Deicide, Vital Remains, Joey Belladonna, The Iron Maidens, Into Eternity, Echoes of Eternity, Warbringer, Exmortus, Bonded by Blood, and more. They have also shared the stage with many of So Cal’s best local bands. .. The year 2009 is shaping up to be a big one for Innerfury. With a much improved line-up featuring new vocalist extraordinaire John Ellison and riffmaster Mike Pardi, along with founding members Bryan Hoxsey, Ryan Gallagher, and Bobby Sylvia, Innerfury is poised to rise to the top of the heavy metal heap. The band will be releasing an eight song as-yet-untitled album early in the year, and will be playing live all throughout Southern California.
