When i was sixteen in High School my mom told me I was always trying to keep up with the jonez and my favorite show on TNT was maguyva he used to make things happen with a lil bit of nothing and thats how I came up with the name Jonez Maguyva.The people I admired growing up were people like MC Lyte, Run DMC,Rakim, KRS One, Mos Def, Kool Moe Dee ect. So I guess you can say Hip Hop lived in my soul. As I got older I found that I had been blessed with Lyrical ability to tell the truth about things that were happening. I some how drifted away from the music that i once loved. It felt as if Real Hip Hop was dead and gone. The sound turned to MC's only speaking on females, guns and gang banging. I remember asking myself what happened to the Hip Hop that told the truth in a story? Hip Hop just couldnt let me go, It was in my vains, my soul and all i wanna do is tell the real from the fake. So when I heard people like Fashawn, Blu, Evidence, Murs, and exile I felt this feeling in my heart and soul. Yes It's back, Its coming all the way back. Theres never a time where I'm not with my pen and Pad writting to some instrumentals. I like to speak on the now instead of looking into the future and rapping about the things that i dont have and I feel thats what separates me from other MC's. All i knew growing up was struggle and pain. So i look to hip hop as an outlet. To escape what i felt as a child growing up in the time of drugs, gang violence, and poverty.
