Finally The Sugar and the Salt is out, a good four years after the first track was recorded. And, what is amazing, is that my live band contains totally different musicians than those on the album. And it still sounds like chills down my spine. The very firstt gig, at Kampen Bistro last Tuesday, was a proud moment for me. I definitely had high shoulders, I wasn't nervous, just tense. I had never performed the new songs live before playing both bass AND doing lead vocals. I wonder why I didn't get a headache concentrating so hard. But, on the final number (Handyman) I messed up the intro beacause my head went - blank! I hadn't got the faintest idea how the song went. I had to cut off the band, christ! Øystein on the drums caught the situation, only too quickly! He started a new count-in immediately, me still being - blank! Shit, it all happened so fast, so how did get it right the second time? Well, a few bars into the song I suddenly was on track again, don't know how....
Again, I want to thank every single one of those who attended Kampen Bistro and made this whole night an incredible one (and I almost got to say hello to everyone when we had finished playing!)
The set list: 1. Wakey wakey 2. Apparently Susan 3. You started it (duet with Ingunn Kvamme-Dalland) 4. Wash away the darkness 5. Two-way letter 6. The King has lost his crown 7. All out of tune 8. Handyman
Great and really interesting... I shall follow this up.
