Been a weird day... 3 years ago family on my mother's side were just getting over the shock of one of my uncles being diagnosed with a cancer and suddenly dying.... and not long after another uncle (same side of the family) was diagnosed with a terminal cancer and given 6 months to live. Well he beat that much longer than anyone expected but with great strength until the news came today. Everyone has been prepared for it all stayed strong even in the worst of times and still strong even now.

Taken from Mark Lerner's Cosmic Calendar: 4.54pm PDT the Annular Solar Eclipse reaches its culmination. This kind of eclipse indicates that a narrow ring of sunlight is visible beyond the dark circle of the Moon because the lunar orb is too close to Earth to fully block out all sunlight. Nevertheless, this eclipse can be as potent and meaningful as a total one. Southern China, Japan, the Northern Pacific Ocean and Western America (mainly Northern California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and Western Texas) are in the pathway of this solar-lunar rendezvous. It is best to see today's event as a super-duper New Moon. (Hope anyone who can see it gets to see it!)

Bit of a sad day at parents' house, a valued member of the family, a beautiful friendly cat by the name of Houdini after 18 odd years of being kind and friendly to strangers, being around for her humans, teaching (and learning new) tricks to the younger moggies, had to be put down after having kidney failure, and other organs starting to shut down, rather than have her suffer in pain. 18 long years full of giving so much to her humans and she did it the best. She will be missed.

I am always deeply touched and grateful for those kind souls that see sadness beneath the happy exterior, who reach out and offer kindness... even when happiness is genuine it is deeply appreciated for some days while unknown to some it is deeply needed

About me:

Honest, truthful, determined, fights for a belief when the belief is strong, passionate, genuine, persistent, risk-taker..... fighter for truth and honesty...analytical, kind, caring, slightly crazy but in the Vala (SG1) way, strong, diligent, quirky, empathetic...

I like things that challenge me in different ways and discussing events that happen globally. I like being somewhere totally lost in the marriage of myself and nature. I like to think. I like to feel, but not feel too much. People who challenge me, captivate me.

I'd like to one day personally thank every artist and musician, every writer, scientist, theorist, computer enthusiast and the whole Internet community for the contribution they have made and the positive influence, inspiration and guidance they have given to life and humanity.

There is honesty....

One of my favourite R.E.M. songs and I can't find it online anywhere to post...King of Comedy

R.E.M. - It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)

One of the best videos that I remember :)

Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds-Into My Arms

Darren Hayes Who Would Have Thought

Wise words and an inspiration to us all.. I used to listen to this on my parent's record player when I was a kid :) along with all the rest of these :)

Congratulations, you're Dr. James Wilson! You've got the tough role of being the conscience and best friend to Dr. Greg House, which proves that you must be secretly (or openly) insane. You're always a good person for providing advice, witty remarks, free lunches, lectures, and (wanted or unwanted) psychoanalysis. You are about as confident as the average person, but you have some big issues with yourself, and may have problems living up to the ideals you have in your head. You do really care about other people, though, even if you sometimes express that caring by trying to get into their pants.

I WANT TO MAKE THIS VERY, VERY CLEAR - DO NOT ADD ME AS A FRIEND IF YOU WANT TO USE MYSPACE AS A DATING SITE. ANY REQUESTS OR MESSAGES LIKE THAT WILL BE TREATED AS SPAM. Stephen Hawking, Bill Gates, Nelson Mandela, Sir David Attenborough, the late Dr Henry Edward Roberts, Gene Roddenberry (in space, I should hope), Albert Einstein...Mary Robinson (for a second time), Michelle Obama, David McWilliams, the Reuters Team to thank them for their accurate and timely information on both Japan and Libya. Positive, honest, genuine, nice, quirky, logical and creative, realistic, idealistic, artistic, thinkers, doers, writers, theorists, philosophers, kind people with a wicked sense of humour and the feeling to make me be. Open minded. People who believe in what is possible.

  • Movies

The films I like (in no particular order) are horror, comedy, animated, thriller, action, martial arts, sci-fi and occasional drama and chick flicks (within reason - it needs to be realistic!). I like accurate adaptations of novels and stage plays that truly reflects the uniqueness of a novel and the story told honourably. Content and storyline are in important. It has to be interesting. A well-written story is better than nonsensical mish-mash. Script and dialogue matter. The story matters. Especially if it is a story of humanity. In saying that, action films get my adrenaline going. Exploding cars, rocket launchers, car chases, bombs and hairy scary stunts fill a lust.. and all things that go 'pew, pew, pew' :) Terrifying stomach turners of horror which make me turn off the lights and sit alone watching in suspension. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Other Guys---Inside Man---The Experiment---The Blind Side---Tears of the Sun---Ip Man---Martyrs---Burn After Reading---The Sinking of the Laconia--Chronicles of Riddickick--Deja Vu--Princess Miononoke--The Onion Movie--The Stand (mini tv series)--Rear Window--V for Vendetta--Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole---Hancock--The 4th Kind--District 9--Lola Rennt--The Fifth Element--There Will Be Blood--Unthinkable--The Spirit--Shaloin Soccer--Kung Fu Hustle--The Slammin' Salmon--True Grit--Tron (original)--Tron:Legacy--Open Range--The Mist--Event Horizon--The Bank Job--Suicide Kings--Serenity--all Resident Evil--Seven Pounds--Wall Street--Wall Street-Money Never Sleeps--Leon--Bolt--The Count of Monte Cristo--How To Train Your Dragon--Jonny Mnemonic--Transformers--Incredible Hulk-- Platoon--Akira Kurosawa's Dreams-- Gran Turino--Push--Crash--The Shining--ET--Ringu--A Scanner Darkley--Evil Dead series--Death Proof/Grindhouse--Pulp Fiction--Kill Bill--Big Lebowski--Terminator series (except T3 Connor was a wimp)--Lethal Weapon series--The Last Boy Scout--Dances With Wolves--Sin City--I Am Legend-- Dawn of the Dead--The Matrix--The Animatrix--Clerks--Mallrats--Chasing Amy--Dogma--Clerks 2 --Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back--Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind--Ice Age--Snatch--Lock, Stock and two Smoking Barrels-- --Star Trek films--Fargo--Planet Terror--Braveheart--Mad Max--Toy Story--Cars--Star Wars--Barton Fink--Sunshine--Spiderman--Stardust--Sleepless In Seattle--Clockwise-- Stargate films--Monsters Inc--Land of the Dead--Gone in 60 seconds--Pirates of the Caribbean--To Kill A Mockingbird--Dazed and Confused--Apocalypse Now--Bridge Over the River Kwai--Wayne's World--Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey--Hostel--Die Hard--Lord of the Rings--Back to The Future--Pan's Labyrinth--About a Boy--Batman Begins--The Dark Knight-- Indiana Jones-- Van Helsing--Underworld--X-Men--Saw--Fantastic Four--White Noise--Resident Evil-- Aliens--The Santa Clause--You've Got Mail--Beverley Hills Cop--Romancing the Stone--As Good as it Gets--Easy Rider--Interview with a Vampire--Queen of the Damned--Boys on the Side--Shirley Valentine--Girl Interrupted--Finding Nemo--The Blues Brothers--2001: A Space Odessy----2010: The Year We Make Contact-- The Lake House---Sleepy Hollow---Edward Scissorhands---Corpse Bride--Coroline--Romeo and Juliet--The Wizard of Oz-- Bedknobs and Broomsticks--Fame--Chronicles of Narnia--Mary Poppins--Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy--Rope--Jaws--James Bond films--The Muppets--The Goonies-- Groundhog Day--Moulin Rouge--Phantom of the Opera--Stand By Me--Planet of the Apes--The Basketball Diaries--Lawnmower Man--Forrest Gump--The Green Mile--Close Encounters of a Third Kind--Original version of The Wicker Man--28 days later--28 weeks later--Rocky Horror--The Fog--The Descent 1&2--The Incredibles--Robots--The Snowman--A Christmas Toy--Ghostbusters--An Affair to Remember

There is nothing better than leafing through pages of words captured on paper; the ideas, thoughts, images, concepts and stories of someone or something else are so fascinating. I've just finally uncovered half my book collection that takes up one full 6 shelved bookcase and I'm so happy. I've missed my books being on hand. I've missed them. In this half of the collection it comprises of books on Space, Science, Evolution, Physics, Witchcraft, Buddhism, Marketing, Advertising, Economy, Psychology, Behaviour Modification, Classic novels, Crime, Poetry, Plays, Cooking, Craft books, History, Art Gallery and Artist collection books, Neurology, Economics.... I'm still hoping to one day finish building the whole collection of Rudyard Kipling's novels published from the 1920s that have the Indian sign for Peace on them (2 versions, red and blue). And I love collecting different versions of the same book...one of my favourites is an edition of Melville's Moby Dick that is so beautifully presented, a rare and true find. Someday I'll have my library of books with the knowledge absorbed to be passed down generations :) My tastes in novels is as diverse as music and films. I never stick to one genre, one type of writing or one form of expression

A full-time mother is one of the highest salaried jobs because the payment is pure love.

"No words can express the power, beauty, heroism and majesty of a mother's love.
It shrinks not where one cowers and grows stronger where one faints,
And sends the radiance of its quenchless fidelity like a sun over the horizon."
