    .... .. .. .. .. .. ................ Lisette Santiago is a multi-instrumentalist who started singing at the age of four and was accepted into the Children’s Metropolitan company at age nine. Lisette graduated from LaGuardia High school of Music and the Arts, and later, while at Columbia University, received vocal coaching as part of a Columbia–Juilliard joint program. Born and raised in a Puerto Rican household in Brooklyn, N.Y., her primary musical experience was rooted in Latin music. Lisette studied hand percussion and drum kit. Throughout the years, she has specialized in Afro-Cuban percussion such as batá and congas. She studied and performed with great masters in Cuba and NYC such as Orlando Fiol, Pancho Quinto, Jose Luis “Changuito” Quintana, and Amelia Pedroso. Lisette has recorded and performed with artists such as Cyro Baptista, Q-tip, The Jungle Brothers, Stereo MCs, Itaal Shur (Grammy award winning songwriter), Richard Bona and Matthew Garrison. On the screen, Lisette can be heard in an episode Of the National Geographic animation series,”Mama Mirabelle,” and can be seen playing the role of a wedding musician in director Jonathan Demme’s latest film, “Rachel Getting Married,” featuring Anne Hathaway. Lisette performs with bands in a wide range of musical styles and is a member of the popular group, BEAT THE DONKEY; led by the Grammy award winning percussionist, Cyro Baptista. Lisette is currently working on new projects, experimenting with electronic music, vocals, percussion, and theremin. She is on the roster of artists endorsing Latin Percussion products.
