  • Bio

Vancouver Island-based singer/songwriter Liv Wade began writing poetry when she was still quite young, expressing herself in a way that neither a diary nor a conversation could convey. At the age of thirteen, her training in classical guitar and piano, along with her words began to create a whole new picture and her songs began emerge. Liv's honest, open singing style along with her innovative songs have given her the opportunity to connect with her audience. She has performed for friends, family and fans in cafes, local pubs and outdoor special event venues. She has been referred to as a "Folk Songstress" by British Columbia's Province newspaper for her performance at 2009 Vancouver Pride celebration. In the beginning of April 2010, Liv participated in the Cowichan International Aboriginal Festival of Film & Art, volunteering at the Youth FX Workshops, and performing at the Youth FX Awards Ceremony. Other upcoming events and projects that Liv will be part of: the Powell River Student Film Festival; composing a song for a music video for adopted people (to bring awareness); composing a song for an upcoming film by Jack Kohler, a filmmaker/producer from northern California; performing at East Side Pride 2010; as well as at the Sunset Beach Festival for Vancouver Pride 2010. In addition, Liv's first album, a EP called 'My Great' will be released independently in May 2011. Liv has a great passion for the arts as well as a great honour for her recently discovered Métis heritage. Her birth family is of Cree, French and Swedish decent. It is exciting to follow the career of this young and astonishingly talented female artist as she continues to blaze new trails and reveal many new gifts. "I often say music is my life or rather, the personal expression of my experience. It is a healing force and when I am singing out to people, I am at home". - LW

I don't believe I've mentioned lately just how amazing you are, Liv. Keep on creating this art that comes from within, share it with the world, never stop.
