  • Bio

Shite N Onions Review "Los Langeros seem like very nice young men from Co. Cork. Well their emails at least indicate that. The music though…well I’m not sure if its genius or insanity. “This is Normal”, sounds like the sound track to a 1970s video nasty in which a Tom Waits like slasher, drunk on poteen and the Fatima Mansions hunts down Willy Nelson with bad intentions and a chainsaw. Like I said, I’m not sure if its genius or insanity. You decide.. LOS LANGEROS THIS IS NORMAL "brand new album from this cork based alt rock five piece outfit. the album features a perfectly raw and rather rawkus collection of bluesy alt rock, ska tinged punk and all manner of distorted country / folk vibes. its a big drunken mess of seriously good time country punk sounds, coming across at times like five angry offspring of tom waits all locked in a room together who just dont know how to behave themselves. there are elements of everything from the pogues to gogol bordello in here with lots of old time ska / country punk thrown in. march 2010" - Road Records .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .... I edited my profile with ..Thomas Myspace Editor V3.6..! .... - Download 'This Is Normal' at loslangeros.bandcamp.com.... Buy 'This Is Normal' at www.roadrecs.com.. 'Cork act that fuses careering electric mandolin, punkabilly, fervid stage antics and a sense of unpredictability.' Irish Times... 'We need more of this madness’ - Hot Press. .. ‘Mad, bad and dangerous to know’ - Evening Echo... ‘One of the best live acts you’re likely to see’ -Inside Cork... ‘The most intense country music ever’ - Shite N’ Onions... ‘The ultimate good time part band’ - Unfit For Consumption... Los Langeros are a demented, concoction of country-tinged goat-punk rockabilly... The early incarnation busked the streets of Melbourne, to various rapturous and violent reactions, when Phil Langero met the mercurial Scottish artist, The Nodge, in Victoria, Australia. They reformed having met again back in the swampy depths of Cork, Ireland, enlisting electric mandolin player Pedro Dolphino... Los Langeros rhythm sections came and went for a while (drummers invariably succumbing to 'The Curse of the Langeros’ Drummer'). 3 CDs of very diverse sounds reflected their disparate influences - from Hank Williams to Nomeansno and Tom Waits- resulting in what one reviewer called ‘the most intense and fucked-up country music ever put to record’. .. Los Langeros have been festival regulars with Electric Picnic, Kilkenny Rhythm N Roots, Waterford’s Spraoi, Galway Arts Festival, Mantua and Hard Working Class Heroes. With a backlog of club gigs to put most bands to shame. The band have also survived several UK tours, while losing their third and fourth drummer... In 2008 the line-up was completed with the arrival of Joe Bandito on bass and Keri Cajones (ex-Brawl) on drums. They joined with Tenpastseven (OOAL Records) to become Ireland's Highest Bands, climbing the country's highest peak, Carrauntouhil, and releasing a split 7” single in commemoration of the achievement... Now arrives 'This Is Normal’... Original track recordings took place in Kerry Pike, Cork. In a farm house surrounded by wild horses. Brass parts were recorded with collaborators in the UK before moving on to a veteran jazz club in Belgium. Punk/poet, Jinx Lennon, provided a searing vocal cameo before the album was completed back in Ireland's Granny It’s OK Studio in Waterford... The band have just returned from an eventful tour of Eastern Europe and Russia and will be playing a number of gigs around Ireland over the summer to promote the album... The first single ‘Greasy Coat’ is now available as a free download from www.bandcamp.com.
