It was a hot...really hot...summer in 2008 when Matt(bass) and Terry(Guitar) started jamming together. They had been trying to write music for a while, when they decided that they wanted to start a legitimate band. They went on a quest, posting ads everywhere, to find a singer and a drummer. After a few weeks of no responds...they found Julia(vox). She was currently in a small garage band, and was contacted by Terry because her current drummer gave him her contact info. They all met up one day to write some music, and then thats when Christian (guitar) came into the picture. He was recommended by our former drummer and amazing friend, Dalton Snow (plays in The Decour). Playing small coffee shops and house parties were fun...but not a lot for the ambitious group, so they decided to get their name out there...and get some promos. Christian called his photographer friend, Josh(drummer) to take photos...but they saw that this kid had more in him. He soon became a part of Lyra Shines, and they have all been going strong ever since. -Two years and 1 month have passed since we met and formed. Two years and 1 month does not seem like a long time. But we have made so many amazing friends, and so many amazing relationships to stop now. With that being said... We finally finished our full-length *Tell Them What They Want To Hear* which will be available at shows and on ITUNES shortly!
