Music and all things musical....Playing music, recording music, watching others play music while I'm recording it. You get the idea here. Guitars and more guitars I mean is 7 really enough? I like to rollerblade but I'm not very good at it and could possible use some lessons. Going out and taking pictures with my mid 80's dinosaur cam that actually uses film. Reading non-fiction mostly. Drooling over recording gear on the internet. Playing chess. Love to travel but right now the travel account is fairly depleted so daytrips or weekenders will have to suffice. I don't know what else......Long walks on the beach by candlelight during thunderstorms.Music
Old school punk and some New Wave...(Pistols, Clash, Ramones, Sham 69, The Jam, Dead Boys, The Stooges, MC5, The Dolls, SLF, ) 80's Hardcore. (Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Minor Threat, DK's, Flipper, Reagan Youth, MDC, Butthole Surfers, Scratch Acid, Big Boys, Husker Du, GBH, The Exploited.) Some classic rock and old blues and maybe some jazz. Just depends on my mood. Psychadeadly and Hey Nigel....Those guys just flat out rock. So here's some other ones..Elvis Costello, NIN, Joy Division, Bauhaus, Pretty much all the grunge stuff but especially Mudhoney and Nirvana and AIC. Flaming Lips, Firewater, Firehose, Minutemen, NewYorkDolls, Monster Magnet, Killing Joke, Portishead, Public Enemy, Dre and Snoop, Ice-T, Hank Rollins, Hank Williams, Misfits, Sonic Youth, Meat Puppets, Throbbing Gristle, Skinny Puppy, Zep, Stones, Hendrix, The Who, Old Aerosmith, Fear, Dick Hell, Johnny Thunders, The Stooges, MC5, Bad Brains

Movies
I generally like them unless they suck. It seems that Hollywood has run out of any original ideas these days so I find myself watching more indie stuff. Not that I won't plop down whatever outrageous price they charge these days to see the latest and greatest H-Wood blockbuster but I usually leave empty and dissappointed just like when I have cheap sushi.Television
Books
Here's what is on Mane's reading list these days..... GET IN THE VAN...Henry Rollins TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD...Harper Lee Various books about the space program and landing on the moon.Heroes
Me of course and every one of my beloved friends.

About me:
Hey everyone....I'm making this the official temporary page for UnReel Studio until I can get a more permanant page going. So here's the deal. I'm a freelance engineer who's always looking for bands or singers to record. I have one principle that I adhere to and that is I'm here to help you make the recording that you want to make. Whatever your musical vision is then that's what were going to do. There's no right and there's no wrong, there's only how you want it to come out. To do that I have a few different ways that will fit into most any budget. Most often I use a combination of digital and analog equipment which I think gives the artist the most flexiblity in creating the sound that they are looking for. I like using ProTools but I'm not one of those engineers who are going to ProTool something to death. I don't believe in cutting and pasting or pitch correction. Perfect music is perfectly boring. It's the little nuances that make things memorable and sometimes the little imperfections. My outboard equipment includes preamps by Yamaha PM1K, FocusRite, Joe Meek, DBX, Presonus, Altec Compressors by Urei, FocusRite, Joe Meek, TFPro, AMEK, DBX Toft Microphones by BLUE, Sennheiser, Shure, Audix, Groove Tubes, Rode, Telefunken, Cad, Reslo, Electrovoice So if you're looking for a way to record something that won't bleed your wallet to death but still give you the record that you want to make then drop me a line at: unreelstudio@hotmail.com or call me at 713-894-9145 and ask for SteveWho I'd like to meet:

...filigree and athmospheric electrosounds, combined with the charismatic vocals of the singer Nic Koray, all in all creating an extraordinarily melancholic and thought-provoking music having no equal...
