  • Heading to the Olympics!!!

    ..
Vancouver here I come!!  I am headed out to be a part of the fun and excitement of the 2010 Olympics!  I will be performing as a part of Atlantic Canada House down at Granville Island.
    From their site:
Come On In! Songs & Stories from Atlantic Canada is an original production that will take audiences into the homes of the hospitable, industrious, and talented people from across Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador. A 30-minute presentation will showcase the beauty and sincerity of Atlantic Canada as well as some of the people who call it home.

The story-tellers of Come On In! are a collection of four stellar singers, songwriters and multi-instrumentalists from across Atlantic Canada:
David Myles (NS), Monique Poirier (NB), Daniel Payne (NL) and Meaghan Blanchard (PE). David, Monique, Daniel and Meaghan will entertain and interact with the audience, and share why Atlantic Canada is a great place to not only visit, but to live and work.

I'm also going to be at the Roundhouse for New Songs, New Stories with Jason Plumb, Romi Mayes and Dan Mangan!!!  How cool is that?  Oh and guess what?  It's SOLD OUT!!

I'll also be performing back at Atlantic Canada House for Atlantic Canada on Deck with the full band.
    From their site:
..Atlantic Canada On Deck features a variety of East Coast performers in a line-up that changes nightly and includes large stage shows of percussion and dance, up and coming musicians and even a unique style of circus theatre. Atlantic Canada On Deck is hosted by Newfoundland and Labrador comedian, actor, and writer, Shaun Majumder. Prepare to be entertained by some of Atlantic Canada's most talented performance artists.

Needless to say I am beyond excited. I feel so lucky to be a part of all of this and if you are in Vancouver during the 2010 Olympics I hope you will come on down to Atlantic Canada House!

  • Meaghan's new site,

    Current mood:artistic

    Hey everyone,
so my Myspace page looks like someone chewed it up and spit it out....I'm not up to tech stuff as of late, BUT I'm working on a website(well not me...thank goodness...but...someone!), but in the meantime, check out my sonicbids page.

    www.sonicbids.com/meaghanblanchard

You'll find a beautifully organized page with tour dates, past dates, download links, free listens to the entire album, pictures.!!!

I'll get that new site up and working in no time, just so you know though...I'm on it!

    In other news...
just got back from a wild weekend at the ECMA's in Corner Brook. Playing on the Main Stage for the Gala was the thrill of my life so far. Mom was my date most of the weekend and we had a blast. I think she had more fun than me! I can't wait to finish up school this year and really dive into my career. Working on compiling for a new full length album. :D! Can not wait to jump back into the studio...just need the cash though....Hrmmm.........
  • helllloooo friends, country men...

    Current mood:tired

Just taking a break from classes to do a little update. Things have been kinda crazy this summer, getting jumped....car accident..playing Anne Shirley 5 days a week.......ANNND EP release :)!!

It will be the 12th of September at the Guild on Queen street in Charlottetown, PEI. A joint release with John Connolly, very talented young man (and my producer for the EP). I hope to see as many out as possible :) Doors open around 9:00pm and music starts at 10:00.

Other than that, just planning things out for the year. Looking forward to doing some touring, writing, gigs and showcases whenever I can. Better run to class...

ps. Here's a critique I found online for my EP along with the album by the oh so melodic Colette Cheverie. http://www.cairnsmedia.com/Editorial.htm
    Check it OUT!

pps. In "My Pictures" you'll find the cover for the EP. My big brother was a real gem to do this for me. :) He's a fine arts major at MTA.
