..The Biography of Imani The Misfit..

Imani the Misfit is an American rapper, record producer, singer- songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, actor and nude model from Maryland. Imani has been featured on Washington City Paper, Examiner.com, Bi-Social Network and many other website news publications as "Maryland's First Bisexual Porn Star Rapper".


Before his confessions of his sexuality, he was featured on Sheek Louch's "From the Bottom to the Top" mixtape with his strip club anthem song "Belly Ring". He has had his music played in several nightclubs in the Washington DC area, as well as writing a jingle for Go-Go Radio. He is also the keyboard player for Tempo, an alternative Go-Go band based out of Largo, Maryland. In addition, he is a featured X rated model on the adult website X Tube in which he poses fully naked in both straight and gay styles. He may be best known for his internet presence on Myspace where he has over 60,000 friends (As of July 4, 2010) 2,500 subscribers on YouTube, and his appearances on websites such as Facebook, SGGDC, WorldStarHipHop, This is 50, PA Palace, HipHopGame, Real Rap Talk, Sole Collectors, and Vlad TV .


Imani built a reputation for himself through the internet as an arrogant, philosophical, yet comedian-like character by promoting his music while taunting his peers in political and social debates. It is his alternative and sometimes extreme views of the world that has helped to establish his buzz. His most recent and controversial stunts have involved his recent confessions to be a bisexual,and in his hometown of the Washington DC area, he has been known for standing at Metro Stations and shopping malls wearing wigs and holding up a "MISFIT" sign, while selling his CD's. Although his reputation has gotten him banned from countless websites and blackballed from certain areas of the hip-hop industry, his persona has established a notoriety lasting impression in the minds of all who come in contact with him.


..Music Career..


Before Imani became a rapper, he learned to play the drums at the age of 13 in his childhood church in New Jersey. At 14, Imani would write his first freestyle rhymes. At the age 15, Imani taught himself how to play the keyboard. By age 16 he was playing for his high school gospel choir in Bowie, Maryland.
Imani has been a keyboard player for six different Go-Go Bands. His first band during high school, was the Kritical Illusions Band. His second band was Total Madness. Other bands that Imani has played with include Popular Demand which featured Killa Cal, and Triple Threat.
In 2002 Imani rediscovered his rap talent when he joined a Go-Go band named Reloaded. From this go-go band, a rap group was formed that was also named Reloaded. Reloaded released a mixtape called The Passion Of the Mic that featured Imani performing his first studio recording under the stage name "Love". Later that year, the band broke up after Imani decided to move to Ohio to pursue other ventures.
Other bands that Imani has played with include Popular Demand which featured Killa Cal, and Triple Threat.
In 2002 Imani rediscovered his rap talent when he joined a Go-Go band named Reloaded. From this go-go band, a rap group was formed that was also named Reloaded. Reloaded released a mixtape called The Passion Of the Mic that featured Imani performing his first studio recording under the stage name "Love". Later that year, the band broke up after Imani decided to move to Ohio to pursue other ventures.
Imani moved to Ohio and became the keyboard player for The Howard Street Blues Band. A blues and jazz band that featured frontman Sonny Robertson, a Mississippi blues legend known for playing behind Jimi Hendrix, BB King and Ron Isley.
After touring with Howard Street Blues Band, Imani decided to move back to Maryland to pursue rap again. He created the stage name Imani The Misfit and changed the name Reloaded into Reloaded Gang. They released a 20 track mixtape called The Blue Pill Mixtape. The mixtape featured the song "Run" which recieved some play in several go-go clubs in the Washington DC area.
After a fallout with group members, Imani left the Reloaded Gang and dropped a solo mixtape. It was called The Green Pill Mixtape, which featured Belly Ring, Rattlesnake, and Smoking In The Crib. Imani also recorded a remix of The Belly Ring with former band mate Killa Cal that recieved significant publicity on Myspace and Youtube, as well as being heavily played in several go-go clubs in the Washington DC area. Other clubs that have played Imani The Misfit's music include Love Nightclub, La Pearl, The Neon and Top Shelf Bar and Lounge.
Imani The Misfit joined Tempo as the star keyboard player in 2006, which would later release "The Movement". On March 8th 2009, Tempo performed on the same ticket as the Backyard Band, as well as playing at Six Flags 3 times during the summer of 2009.
His most recent single is "Promotion Team" a single that features a defiant side of Imani, taunting his enemies while labeling them all as his promtion team. The single has gained critical acclaim through the Mypace and Youtube.
After "Promotion Team" was Imani shocked all his fans by confessing to be a bisexual and began posing naked in various photoshoots. H released "My Definition Of A Drug" which is a song that promotes the idea that "everyone has a drug" and attacks the medical industry and compares Prozac to cocaine. The song has been released to iTunes and Amazon and has been featured on several websites including Washington City Paper, Examiner.com, Bi-Social Network, SGLCafe.com and many others.

Imani the Misfit used popular social networking website MySpace to further both his music as well as fashion design career. Imani also used MySpace for blogging about his music and life, while commenting on society. Using shock marketing strageties to get himself attention, Imani created a modest group of admirers and enemies alike that have all added to his celebrity. He used other social networking forums to promote his music and fashion through shock marketing strategies, his online antics includes posting nude pictures of himself, confessing to be a bisexual, claiming to despise women and labeling his enemies as slaves.
Most recently Imani has used his shock marketing and promotion strategies on websites like WorldStarHipHop, Vlad TV, This is 50 to stimulate his buzz. In the past months he has created a reputation for himself as "The Hottest Bisexual Porn Star Rapper from the DMV" by all those who regularly visit the site.

In 2008, Imani introduced his fashion line through the Myspace under the company name "Misfit Clothing Company" The fashion line has a branch for both men and women "Misfit" and "Misfit Chick" that featured t-shirts, hoodies, tank tops and thongs. The fashion line is now distributed through Spreadshirt.


..Adult Modeling..


In 2009, Imani posted pornographic pictures that featured him and an ex-girlfriend on the internet. The buzz reaction from that picture marked a new direction for Imani The Misfit. Shortly after, he began doing nude photoshoots and posting the pictures online. His pictures are now distributed through X Tube. He most recently collaborated with local photographer Sean Dibble in a photoshoot that featured Imani completely naked with blood dripping all over his body.
