About me:
The Narragansett Brewing Company has been around for over 100years and was known for being the beer of New England up until it was bought by Falstaff in the early 1980’s. In 2005, the beer was re-launched when life long Rhode Islander, Mark Hellendrung, bought the rights to Narragansett Brewing and began contract brewing the beer at the High Falls Brewery in Rochester, New York. Narragansett Beer is a premium lager. It’s light, but not too light, with that straight from the barrel taste. The lager was recently named one of the top 25 beers of 2007 by Beer Advocate and is the highest rated domestic lager by the publication. It is readily available throughout all of New England and certain parts of Florida. Thanks to the help of Bill Anderson, the last Brew Master from the original facility, the beer is back to its original recipe from when it was number one in New England. Narragansett currently brews four styles of beer; light, lager, bock, and porter. In addition to contract brewing with High Falls, Narragansett contract brews the bock and porter to Trinity Brew house in Providence, RI. The porter is the winter seasonal brew available on draft throughout Rhode Island and certain parts of Massachusetts. Originally the spring seasonal brew, the bock is also bottled by Cottrell Brewery in Pawcatuck, CT and is now available year round. No other beer contains the brand association that Narragansett has for New Englanders. The company is once again achieving that association of the Boston Red Sox, backyard barbeques, and local goodness. Every can and bottle comes with a story, not a lime, and that story is a piece of New England history. With hopes of building a new brewery in RI, Narragansett is our own New England beer and it doesn’t suck. Please visit www.narragansettbeer.com for more information.Who I'd like to meet:
