FORMED IN THE SPRING OF 2008 BY ALEX (GUITAR, VOCALS), ROB (BASS), PAUL (DRUMS) AND ANDREW (GUITAR), OCEANUS SOUGHT TO COMBINE COLD, DARK ATMOSPHERES WITH CRUSHING RIFFS AND DRIVING GROOVES TO CREATE AN EERILY-TEXTURED SOUND. A YEAR LATER MICHAEL (KEYBOARD) WAS RECRUITED AND THE CURRENT LINE-UP WAS COMPLETED.

TAKING INSPIRATION FROM THE SEA, OCEANUS AIMS TO CONJURE THE SAME SENSE OF VASTNESS IN THEIR MUSIC. WHILE IT REMAINS FIRMLY ROOTED WITHIN THE EXTREME METAL GENRE, BEAUTIFUL PASSAGES OF MOODY MELODIES INTERTWINE WITH FURIOUS RIFFS, GIVING THE AURAL EXPERIENCE A DEEP, ETHEREAL QUALITY.

OCEANUS HAS BEEN PERFORMING EXTENSIVELY OVER THE U.K. AND ARE CURRENTLY BUSY RECORDING THEIR DEBUT RELEASE DUE IN 2011.

    Formed in the Spring of 2008 by Alex (guitar & vocals), Rob (bass), Paul (drums) and Andrew (guitar), ..Oceanus.. sought to combine cold, dark atmospheres with crushing riffs and driving grooves to create an eerily-textured sound. A year later Michaël (keyboards) was recruited and the current line-up was completed. .. .. Taking inspiration from the sea, ..Oceanus.. aims to conjure the same sense of vastness in their music.
