After a bit of a delay (IndyPlanet took their time uploading it to their site), Horrific Tales 2 is finally available for sale. And just weeks after Halloween!
As stated before, this issue contains 2 two-story pages written by me, and is officially my first printed work in comics. Also included are some awesome stories by studiomates John Anderson and Kenny Keen. Copies are 60 pages, for a mere $7.99. Get your copy at the link below!
To cut right to the chase, Nova City Stories and Dirk Dixon have both been delayed (release dates coming soon) and I won't be attending Baltimore as expected.
Nova City Stories #1 is now fully drawn and inked and is being delayed to allow Highburn founder and resident colorist Mike Watkins do what he does best and bring some beautiful colors to Lyle and Pete's work. We're anticipating a release within the next month or so.
Dirk Dixon #1 is being delayed indefinitely. After having artists and colorists pull out from the project several times, I've decided to shelve it for a bit until I have a chance to flesh the project out more to my liking and get a stable team of creators attached to the book.
So, since I won't have anything to sell, I decided to save myself a couple hundred bucks and just wait to get started next con season. See you all then!
I just got word from friend and editor Kenny Keen that this years Horrific Tales Anthology has been sent to the printers, and should be available within the next few weeks. 60+ black and white pages of horror story goodness, all for around 8 bucks. Below, you'll find some sample images of the front and back cover.
As you can see, the back features cover samples for four of the interior stories. The one on the top right is a little sneak-peek at one of my stories (The Moth and The Flame, with art and letters by Juha Veltti).
I've asked Kenny to let me know once there is a pre-order link available and will post it up on this blog for anyone interested in grabbing a copy of their own. I'll also have copies on sale at my next foreseeable convention appearances.
I've got a last-minute con appearance lined up this year for Baltimore Comic Con in October. I'll be sharing a mass of table space with several of my colleagues from Highburn Studios. I'll be splitting two side-by-side tables with Kenny Keen and John Anderson, and we'll (hopefully) be positioned next to fellow studio-mate (and Nova City Stories artist) Lyle Pollard. Mike, Brynn, and Peter will be around somewhere too.
The big news is that Baltimore looks to be the debut of both Nova City Stories: Love Song #1 AND The Continued Adventures of Dirk Dixon #1. Not to mention Tribulations #1 and the ALL NEW Tribulations #2, and all the other great Highburn books, prints, and sketches from all our great artists!
