World In Arms. A name that is rapidly becoming associated with energetic, and entertaining shows and some of the most thoughtful and passionate music anybody has heard in some time. Although they come from the small state of Rhode Island, it would be a big mistake to write this band off as trivial or diminutive. The band recently recorded, mixed, and released their first full length album, In Hopes That the Past Will Fade, completely on their own.
Two years may seem like a short time for a band to be together, but the members of World In Arms have been garnering experience in other bands for nearly 10 years. Whether it's just hanging around at practice or tearing up whatever venue is set in front of them, the huge grins that rarely leave their faces are proof that they couldn't be happier to devote their time and energy to World In Arms. They have one core motto, "Take your music seriously. You don't have to take yourself seriously."
Another factor that many have commented on is the absence of a "bands we have shared the stage with" section on their myspace page. Although they have played shows with some pretty reputable names, the members of World In Arms would rather focus on becoming the band that people want to share the stage with. Any band can get a spot on a big show, but being the reason a show is big is much more desirable for World in Arms. With a new EP in the works and upcoming plans for touring the East Coast, it is clear that this band has no intention of ever slowing down, and they wouldn't have it any other way.
