Pickpockets and Skyrockets

Bio:

Pickpockets and Skyrockets’ sound is probably immediately obvious from their name. They are Sam Ratcliffe and Pete Buffery: two best friends originally from North Devon who play adorable pop music with simple melodies on acoustic guitars and xylophones.

It’s safe to say that this is the sweeter side of London. ‘Perfectly Too Young’ sings hushed lyrics about friendship with a blissful and innocent optimism that’s like a breath of country air after spending too long Underground. The escapism is laid bare in these tracks, and it’s irresistible.

The sunny guitar sound of ‘Don’t Start’ is the perfect accompaniment to the current trend towards spring-like weather, making Pickpockets and Skyrockets the sort of band you’ll listen to when you should be revising for exams, but prefer to pretend that summer is already here.

This is entirely the wrong sort of music for those cold, rainy weekdays when the expectation is to be mature and act like a responsible adult. But luckily, I think we’ve had enough of winter.
