What is Psych Ward, Who is Psych Ward you might ask? Psych Ward has always been a go against the grain do you own thing group of rappers, Lyricists, and musicians whose primary goal has always been and always will be to create original music that stands apart and gets stuck in your head, but most of all it's to create music that is 100% original. It began in 2002 when rappers Mr. Sick, Deebo Krazy, and Spooky decided the music scene needed shaken up by something unheard before. They formed a group to based on their love for music and they way it had impacted their lives. They were not only interested in one form but many, so they took their love of Punk, Metal Industrial and Rap to create what is now known as psych ward not just the music but the group as a whole. But it's not easy to blend so many varied styles. The rap scene said they were too metal, the metal scene said too punk, and the punk scene said too rap. But they had too much to say and too much determination to let the closed mindedness of others keep them from showing the world what they felt they had to. In 2002 Psych Ward shared the stage with many national acts such as Dope, The Misfits, Wolfpac, The Murder Junkies, and Rosemary's Billy goat. When not playing with other bands they were putting on their own DIY shows anywhere that would have them Warehouses, House parties and any venue with the courage to put on one of their shows. As 2003 rolled in Psych Ward realized that it was time to release their own album but just being good at what you do doesn't pay the bills so it seemed as if a studio album were out of the question for them. So once again not letting anything stop them they released a live album to give the people what they wanted. Which sold well in the Cleveland and Akron area but more importantly they'd be able to record a studio album. They played with many more national acts such as Mushroomhead, The Kottonmouth Kings, Saint Dogg, Ring Worm, Slaves on dope, Zug Island, and Esham. Also that year they started headlining their own shows at bigger venues like Peabody’s and The Phantasy Concert complex. When 2004 came Psych Ward Decided it was time to hit the road and show the world Cleveland's best kept secret. Sticking to their do-it-yourself strategy they set up shows through out the Midwest and set out to tour on their own. Through out the year sites like Myspace and Sound Click made it possible to get their music out nationally. Soon they started to notice many other bands popping up with similar sounds. They continued playing with bigger and bigger national acts like Tech Nine, PDM, Marz, Twiztid, Bizzy Bone and The Genortoruers. They also played many festivals like Cleveland Music Fest, College music Journal Fest, and played the Gathering of the Juggalos. 2004 also brought some trials with it Spooky left the group to pursue other things leaving the band one member short. The two remaining members Mr. Sick, and Deebo Krazy tried many different rappers to fill the void thru 2004 and 2005 Psych Ward did however released a studio album in Dec. 2004 “Brain Washed” sold well through out the Midwest where psych ward was playing most of their shows. 2005 came in with a blast and Psych Ward decided it was time to expand from the Midwest play further out in the U.S. playing many cities such as Dallas, Nashville, Denver, Hartford and Worchester In between all the touring they managed to record and release “Committed” the follow-up to “Brainwashed”. By the time 2006 was here, Spooky rejoined the line-up and the band was back with power of 3 and ready to take over the world… Psych Ward Hit The Studio In Late 2006 To Start The New CD and New Era Of The Psych Ward Boyz! Psych Ward recorded a few tracks with Spooky, Some of which were remakes of tracks from the committed CD, along with some new tracks! 2006 til 2008 had its fare share of ups and downs for the Psych Ward Boyz! Deebo Krazy went to jail for 3 months and at that time both Mr Sick and Spooky decided Psych Ward without Deebo Krazy wasn't Psych Ward! Mr Sick and Spooky started a side project called "Clark Ave" to fill the void while Deebo Krazy was locked up. Even after Deebo Krazy got outta jail they decided to do both Clark ave and Psych Ward, Thru the recording process for Psych Ward and Clark Ave things grew diffrent for each member, with Deebo Krazy throwing show, Spooky doing his thing and Mr Sick trying to discover hisself outside of music everything went to the way side. Feb 13th Mr Sick and Deebo Krazy decided to do one last show for the time being til they felt it was right to do Psych Ward again! After a year break Mr Sick and Deebo Krazy felt the time was right and it was time to do Psych Ward as they first planned back in the day! But this time with my passion and more of their heart in it! Psych Ward's back and this time its for the better!
