Who is Raymond Richards aka Ray Rich??? Raymond Richards has been into music his whole life. Born in New Orleans, he was influenced by different styles of music from marching bands to jazz. He began playing the trumpet in elementary school. Once in high school, he joined the drum section at Edna Karr High. While in the drum section, he developed his skills on the tenor drum becoming section leader before graduating. After graduating, Raymond returned to New Orleans and began teaching music to teenagers and pre-teens as a drum instructor. In 2005, after Hurricane Katrina hit our city, everything changed. The love for the music is gone, the love for people is gone and most importantly the love of life is slowly going. However, good things can come from bad situations. Through this tragic time, Ray Rich was born. No longer using a trumpet or a drum to make music, he only needs one mic to get his point across. So now through his raps, Ray Rich is bringing you to New Orleans. He was told that it starts with a dream. With hard work and determination this dream can and will become a reality. Ray Rich is not a gangster rapper, that is not the kind of life he lived. He spits reality on these tracks, not someone else’s life like these pretenders out here. Everyone has a story to tell and Ray Rich definitely will make you a believer. ..
