  • Bio

.. .. .. .... .. .. .. .: Producer. Arranger. Songwriter. Vocalist. Composer. Reginald Todd Strickland has done it all and has done it well. As a child growing up in Austin, Texas, Reginald's earliest exposure to music came from his family. Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, George Benson, Ashford & Simpson, Minnie Ripperton, The Ohio Players, The O'Jays, Nancy Wilson, Teddy Pendergrass and The Jackson Five were just a few of the R&B/Soul artists that shaped Reginald's young musical ear. As time progressed, Reginald's influences began to diversify dramatically. As a teen he became involved in marching bands where he developed an ear for composing. As he began to truly understand how various instruments worked together, Reginald's production began to mature and take on a signature sound. Reginald's new- found interest in complex musicianship lead him to gravitate towards contemporary jazz artists like The Yellow Jackets, Spyro-Gyra and The Crusaders. But it wasn't until the 1986 release of Janet Jackson's break-through album "Control" that Reginald's primary and most impactful musical influence came into being - the incomparable Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. The ability of this duo to metamorphosize with each artist they collaborated with as well as their deep- rooted understanding of "real music" and "real songwriting" gave Reginald the inspiration he needed to aggressively pursue a career as a producer/songwriter. Jam and Lewis' longevity also reinforced the notion that there is ALWAYS an audience for cleverly written, innovative, funky music! Reginald's aspirations, now, are to make his presence known in the world of film and television by writing film scores, commercial jingles and soundtracks in addition to seeking out up-and-coming vocalists whose passion, style and drive match that of his own. Reginald Todd Strickland has traveled a long road from his humble beginnings in Austin, Texas to his present incarnation as an ambitious New Jersey producer/songwriter/composer poised to take on the music and film industries. "Good things come to those who wait" and there is absolutely no doubt that Reginald Todd Strickland has kept us waiting long enough! :. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .: PLEASE PASTE ANY OTHER CODES HERE :.
