BIGSTEREO

Everyone seems to have posted Reporter already, and we just had to. They’re from beautiful Portland, Oregon and I just can’t get enough of their album ‘Time Incredible’. The album is full of goth disco sexiness. They’re being compared to Glass Candy left and right, but in all honesty they stand on their own. Their dirty and grimey sound slaps the dancey and melodic vibe in the face. Its a battle of noise and pop and who knows which one wins. They completely fill the void I’ve had lately for Blonde Redhead’s hiatus (which will soon end). If a martini in hand in a dark cave like disco is your thing then go get Reporter’s new album now!

Electronically infused post punk outfit, Reporter from Portland, Oregon released their second album, a luxurious gate fold double LP titled, “Time Incredible” on Holocene Music yesterday. This album is dedicated to dancing, but not for the sake of wild abandon alone. There is an interesting dynamic between the ethereal and earthly at play. The body moving live bass, discordant electric guitar, and insistent live electronic beats anchor you to the reality and limitations of the real world, both beautiful and tragic. Alberta’s wispy prophetic voice accompanied by spectral electronic effects and samples offer celestial escape and embody an an act of noble rebellion, fantasy, and pleading for that unattainable utopia in a humbling, sacred sort of way.

www.seattleshowgal.com/reporter-click-shaw/....A girl named Alberta, two guys named Daniel and Michael, and heavy synthesized dance music. Those are Portland’s new sweethearts’ basic elements. Reporter evokes a spacey, psychedelic rock, chocked full of reverb and thick electronics. At times the vocals hardly distinguishable; they become just another piece of their high-energy chaotic puzzle. Their debut Time Incredible (Holocene Music) comes out on August 10th and it’s already causing stir in their hometown.....
....
Their first single is “Click Shaw,” an intergalactic electronic tune that represents well the project as a whole. One of the echo-y noises included simulates a spaceship hovering over Earth, about to be saved from the grayness and depression of melancholic indie music by Reporter. They want to start a revolution and make people dance instead of just stare and sigh, especially if the dancing takes place on a parallel reality where the beats dominate everyone’s senses and make them unearthly happy. Enjoy!

Choppy and angular, Reporter’s “Click Shaw” feels musically weighty – anchored by handclaps and a strolling bass line. But the vocals are decidedly airy, freeing the track from what could have strayed into something far more industrial than dance-centric. And it’s fantastic. The track churns and moves throughout, pulsing through your ears, directly to making your ass move during the entire two minutes and twenty-two seconds it’s on. Reporter is poised to release their debut full-length album – entitled Time Incredible – on Holocene Music on August 10th. They have a few dates around the West Coast (they’re based in PDX) over the next two months, which you can check out on their MySpace page, and check out what else Holocene has to offer over at their site.6/15/10Reporter is poised to drop their new album, Time Incredible, on Holocene Music. The first cut from the album is a glistening 80's synth-rock banger with groovy futuristic electro tones to kick it into high gear. Keep an eye out in the next month for some stellar remixes to surface as well.

http://loudvine.com/blog/mp3/reporter-download.... Reporter, the spaced out musical genius trio from Portland, OR are about to release their new album, “Time Incredible” on Holocene Music this August. The experimental, electro, deeply probing mind trip that is Reporter also will play a few shows. Reporter is a wonderful mix-mash of deep syntho-electro beats. The music is sexy and loud enough, covered in a hypnotic, contagious syntho-rock, light-escapade, dance all night vibe that is powerful enough to move the crippled to dance. The band makes a new sound for a new generation of people in search of the next new frontier through a pulsating fuzzed out cerebral musical trip. To be enjoyed and not to be missed live.
