Bio
It's taken me a while to decide what to be when I grow up - so long, my kids are grown up too! Which is why I now have time, money and energy to go for the songwriting. Gradually it begins to pay off, the piano lessons, the vocal coaching, the hours writing and rewriting. I'm now working on the twelfth song out of twelve for my first CD. I would never have got this far without the coaching, support and encouragement of my music partner Nigel, who plays piano for me and records us in his studio. As the songs begin to be more polished and rehearsed, we are startng to perform them live. Watch this space! ...................... .......... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. -

Sounds Like
Nobody else, quite, I hope. My heroines are Billie Holliday, Ella Fitzgerald, Astrud Gilberto. My voice is characteristically warm and suggestive, but as I gain better control I'm trying to strip it back to something sparer and lighter with less syrupy vibrato. The songs mostly have a retro feel, like old jazz standards. I have been thrilled lately after performances to be told they remind people of: a) Fran Landesman, b) Annie Ross, c) Dave Frischberg! Wouldn't a bit mind being any of these people!
