http://deepcaverecords.wordpress.com.... We've launched a blog that features a ton of free downloads from The Deepcave Records family. The free downloads consist of unreleased material that didn't make it to albums, new albums that we're not pressing but want to give out for free none the less, and older cd's that we're no longer trying to push....check it out at the following link:....http://deepcaverecords.wordpress.com.... http://deepcaverecords.wordpress.com.... ...... .... .................. Aside from solo stuff, I rep it with my groups NWO, Deepcave and Nanabijou so check out their myspaces(in my top friends) to hear what we been cooking up. ........ PRESS KIT BIO.... Royal-T, according to exclaim magazine, "reveals the most potential of the newest generation of Canadian rappers" and he's come along way since his debut LP in 2003, taking that potential and polishing his craft to become a fine tuned technical rapping machine. Since 2003 Royal-T has released 3 more solo albums, 2 group projects, recorded over 200 songs, been featured on numerous albums by various artists, hosted his own hip hop radio show, gone on cross Canada tours, performed in the U.S. and shared stages with some of hip hop's most legendary rappers. He prides himself on a heavily honed skill set that rivals some of the most talented MC's in the game and he's run the gamut from local freestyle battle champ to polished song writer and performer..... Raised on Canada's far east coast in St John's, Newfoundland he picked up freestyling in ciphers at school and began writing songs to his favorite beats of the day, namely Wu-Tang, Organized Konfusion, Boot Camp Clik, Juice Crew and Souls Of Mischief. In 2000, Royal-T moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario and became an integral part of their close-knit, budding hip hop scene. In a three year period he held it down performing at nearly a hundred shows, co-hosting and programming the local University's top rated radio show, dropping Thunder Bay's only officially pressed and distributed hip hop album to date (2003's Weirdo Music For Elitist Aliens) and winning numerous MC battles in Thunder Bay and other Western Canadian cities. .... With a barrage of positive feedback by way of magazine and website reviews and college radio play in Canada, and a handful of American and European cities, Royal-T earned the opportunity to perform across the country and network with fellow mc's, producers and hip hop heads who shared the same vision. .... In 2004 Royal-T moved 8 hours west to Winnipeg, Manitoba which also happened to be, not only home to one of Canada's highest producing hip hop scenes, but also home to fellow ambitious mc and colleague Big Bear who had been busy putting out his debut album and putting on Winnipeg's most successful hip hop shows. Shortly after moving to Winnipeg, Royal-T and Big Bear expanded on Big Bear's Deepcave productions and created Deepcave Records as a platform to release music from themselves and their crew which consisted of their favorite like minded Canadian hip hop artists. Deepcave Records has released 13 albums to date with another 4 slated for release in the next year. The Deepcave crew has also been fortunate enough to tour with legendary New York rappers the Boot Camp Clik, with Los Angeles veteran Abstract Rude (Project Blowed) and with fellow LA hip hop mainstay Awol One(the Shapeshifters) based on the strength of their high energy live show which had gained undeniable notoriety throughout the prairies and western Canada..... Style wise, Royal-T makes use of his sharp tongue and ability to flow effortlessly at incredible speeds, however, he posesses more than just technical rapping prowess. Royal-T, as described by Exclaim magazine "lyrically covers a lot of ground, speaking candidly about politics, society and himself, as well as taking time to drop some battle raps and abstract rhymes. Most impressive is his rare ability to make it all work on one album." Royal-T has always strived to diversify his songs, flip new styles and never become predictable as evidenced by his latest review from Urbnet.com for his 2009 solo release "Cognitive Ability" which states "Best are his raps promoting scientific thought (“For the Gifted”), his attack on tattletales with Touch and Apeface (“Snitch”) and his struggles as an impoverished rapper (“I Know”). His braggadocio is also cerebral, as displayed on both “The Big Boom” and “The Big Ill.” Being most familiar with Royal-T as a rapid-fire rapper, I was also impressed with his slower flows, which show up quite often here alongside his short bursts of tongue-twisting speed.”.... Royal-T has released 4 solo albums to date. His debut 2003's "Weirdo Music for Elitist Aliens" help put Thunder Bay's hip hop scene on the map while cementing his status as a force to be reckoned with on the mic. In 2006, he followed that up with "the Void Filler collection", a 21 track album full of diverse content, various styles, production from some of Canada's best producers and features from many notable talented hip hopers like Minneapolis's Prof and Rahzwell. His 2 most recent releases (2009's Dirty Sample produced "Cognitive Ability" and 2010's "Royal-T and DJ Kutdown"), however, showcase a more polished version of the lyricist that emerged as a contender in the Canadian hip hop scene back in 2004..... Aside from his solo material Royal-T has been in several groups. In 2004 he joined forces with Thunder Bay hip hop veteran Nevamind to make "the Yes Men" and they released a limited run album produced by Nevamind which is recognized to local hip hopers as a classic contribution to the Thunder Bay scene. In 2008 he collaborated with fellow Deepcave members over beats provided by Canadian super producer Factor to create the "Deepcave and Factor" album which Uptown Magazine described as "The sound of an accomplished crew of rhymesmiths working with a producer who knows when to pump it up and when to slow it down". 2010 saw the release of "Deepcave Presents: The Mrs..." which is a 41 track mixtape consisting of unreleased material from the Deepcave crew recorded between 2002 and 2008 on which Royal-T contributes verses on nearly every song. .... Coming up is the NWO album. The NWO is a local fan favorite crew consisting of Royal-T, several other Deepcave members and 4 members of the infamous Winnipeg rap group The Dead Indians. Between 2006 and 2009 they collaborated on over 50 crew tracks which have since been narrowed down to the 15 best songs which are set to be released as an album in 2010. .... For a few months in 2009, Royal-T was back in Thunder Bay where he hooked up with former partners in rhyme Nevamind and Lev to bang out 17 tracks over production by Nevamind under the group name Nanabijou. The Nanaibijou LP will be released in fall 2010. .... Late in 2009 Royal-T moved to British Columbia where he set up shop only to have fellow Deepcave member and real life brother Lev follow him out west shortly after to Work on a long overdue collaborative album. Being siblings that grew up rapping in the same groups and sharing stages together, a collaborative effort between the two brothers has long been contemplated and urged by their peers and fans alike. The chemistry on their forthcoming LP is as undeniable as the raw skill each MC possess, mix that with production from the likes of DJ Kutdown, the Dirty Sample and P-Nut and you've got yourself a release that will more than justify the wait for this natural combination..... Collaborations being nothing new to Royal-T, he's worked with a plethora of notable rappers, producers and DJ's. On his solo and groups’ albums he's featured the likes of Cee!!!!!!!!(Low Pressure records- Nova Scotia), John Smith (Peanuts and Corn records- Winnipeg), The Dope Poet Society (Toronto), Touch (Edmonton), Prof and Rahzwell (Minneapolis), Wormhole (Hawaii) and Awol One (Los Angeles), to name a few. In 2006, Royal-T was featured on three tracks on Big Bear's "Bear Back" as well as occupying the only guest spot on Grubbs' debut LP "Plague City" released on Foultone Records. In 2007/2008, Royal-T snatched guest mc credits on 2 albums from LA's Awol One- "Afterbirth" and "Only Death Can Kill You". .... Royal-T has been featured on numerous mixtapes and compilation albums such as: "the Dirty Sample- The Belvedere Sessions", "The Gestalt Collective- Scrimmage One", "Handsolo Records- Ancient Weapons and Hokey Religions", "Metawon- Choplifter" and "the Dirty Sample- Beauty and Poison". He also occupies a guest spot on an upcoming European release from Germany's Timo. .... Royal-T has been interviewed, featured or had music reviewed in popular magazines, websites and blogs from all over Canada and the U.S. and has even reached the frigid shores of Sweden with an extending fan base thanks to a feature on the country's 1 hip hop website. Music by Royal-T has been played and charted on college radio all over Canada and the U.S..... A seasoned veteran when it comes to performing, Royal-T continues to wow crowds with a raw energetic live performance, delivering rapire fire rhymes with total conviction. Royal-T has toured Canada to welcoming receptions and even traveled to the U.S. to rock successful shows on a couple of occasions. Since 2003, Royal-T has opened for Method Man and Redman, Boot Camp Clik, Masta Ace, Smiff N Wessun, Naughty By Nature, D12, Royce Da 5'9, Joe Budden, Black Moon, Necro, RA The Rugged Man, Method Man(solo), Ill Bill, Wordsworth, Souls Of Mischief,Sean P, Brother Ali, Awol One, Aceyalone, Grouch(Living Legends), Zion I, DJ Craze, Blueprint, Busdriver(Project Blowed), Joe Dub, Subtitled, The Crest, Swollen Members, Sweatshop Union, Classified, DL Incognito, Josh Martinez and many more.... .... Currently, Royal-T resides in Nanaimo, BC with his brother Lev where they're finishing up work on their latest LP while performing throughout the province. Since arriving in BC, Royal-T has gone back to hosting his own hip hop radio show which can be heard Saturday nights from 9pm until midnight PST (midnight- 3am EST) on CHLY 101.7 FM or online at www.chly.ca ....
