Note from Sheila: Hey! I'm back! I had twins last August and now I'm back with a new video and some great new music- look out! : )
Yours truly is on there with some amazing bands. Fun fun! : ) Go listen! (My song is way into the show- after the interview of a band called Delagrange... so at least 45 mins in). Enjoy.
Sheila Swift hit "Feel Like I Do" Featured on bigFM Radio
2007 Rockwired Female Artist of the Year Sheila Swift (D'Jango Blue Music label, managed by Desert Highway Music) is being featured this Sunday on bigFM Radio, which simultaneously broadcasts in Los Angeles and Germany (how cool is that?)! Here's the link followed by what they have to say about her!http://bigmusic.big-fm.info/065-788-DA7-C8A/content/html/musicpipeline/index.htmlAbout SHEILA SWIFTWe?re having her back here for the second time, as we earlier featured her wonderful song, SOBER! And now, here?s more of Sheila?s great voice and songwriting with great catchy hooks on FEEL LIKE I DO. You would never know that she was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor at the young age of 12! But she?s proven that you never give up your dreams, and she?s going strong with her Indie Artistic musical career, making heads turn here in the U.S. with her unstoppable energy, spirit, serious musicianship and live performance chops. Swift is also an artisan and painter, having majored in art and English at Houston Baptist University. With Neil Finn and Sarah McLachlan as influences, Swift manages her own style with ease, with guitarist- husband Michael working closely with her, as well as having a stellar band of top heavy talent like bassist Joey Canaday (LeAnn Rimes) and pianist Dennis Borycki (Garth Brooks), for example. She just played two major showcases at the prestigious U.S. Indie Music Festival, SXSW in Austin, TX this year at Mom?s and Austin Java in conjunction with Desert Highway Records / deserthighwayrecords.com. Right now, Swift is working on new music for her upcoming EP and scheduling a release for 2009. And guess what? She has just announced that she will be having twins with her husband Michael on Sept. 27th! Big Congratz Sheila To You!
Man was it hot, but we had a blast! Desert Highway put together two AMAZING shows this weekend at MOMO’S and AUSTIN JAVA. Thanks to Ernest and Dorayn for once again pulling it all off without a hitch and bringing out some of our favorite people.
We got to play with a whole gaggle of great artists including the always amazing Elam McKnight (and his red-hot side kick Bob Bogdal), D Trevlon (who told me the secret to his amazing whistle!), Ben Weintraub and his CRAZY band (we love you guys!), Jackie Bristow, Shannon Hurley, and bunches more! : )
Thanks to everybody who came out- it was great to see some of you "blasts from the past"!
And lastly, a great big thanks to Zack Parkman who flew in from VA to play with me, Marty Durlam who braved the flu but played flawlessly (as always!), Preach brought the noise and Mystro was just plain fun to hang out with! And of course, my baby Michael did great on the git-fiddle! : )
Great vid! Good to see you're back at it (and Mike, too) and the kids are doing well. Christen said you looked good on Good Morning Houston the other day, so that was cool to hear about. She's down there for a little while, I'm sure she would like to meet up if you had the time.
God Bless!!!
wooo!! love it!
