Shipwrecked Fest Blog Entries
This be the first entry in the captain's journal. We officially set for the open seas and a journey we aim to take and ultimately to end with the first ever Shipwrecked Pirate Music Festival.
After some initial hunting around we considered trying to hold the festival in conjunction with International Talk Like A Pirate Day but after looking at Ren Faires and Pirate Fests in and around our geographic area we are now contemplating the weekend of August 28th & 29th.
Holding the event that particular weekend will avoid conflicts with the Iowa State Fair, The Des Moines Renaissance Festival, the Kansas City Renaissance Festival and the St Louis Pirate Festival weekends.
We will take the coming week to determine if this in fact will be a good weekend to hold the event.
If ye have any advice or would like to be involved in the planning and execution of the festival we will jave our volunteer message boards live by the end of the week at http://www.shipwreckedfest.com.
Thanks for all of you have become our friend and have communicated with us. We won't be able to do this without the assistance from our pirate friends.
