follow skintrecords at http://twitter.com Skint Records is a Brighton based dance music record label owned by JC Reid, Tim Jeffery and Damian Harris (Midfield General). It was created as a sublabel of Loaded Records, also founded by Reid and Jeffery. The label was, together with Wall of Sound, a leader in the big beat music scene of the mid to late 1990s. The label's roster at this time included scene leaders Fatboy Slim, Hardknox, Indian Ropeman, Freq Nasty and X-Press 2. Towards the end of the 1990s and at the start of the 21st century the label expanded its range of releases to include more house based songs, most prominently "Lazy" by X-Press 2 (charted number 2 in the UK charts), and releases by legendary techno artist Dave Clarke as well as artists as diverse as Lucky Jim, FC Kahuna, Bentley Rhythm Ace and the Ralfe Band. One mainstay band of the label has been the Lo-Fidelity Allstars who have changed and diversified their style along with the label. Keeping up to date, the label now proudly includes 'Goose', a Belguim based band who are being hailed as the best live dance act around at the moment and Alloy Mental who hailing from Belfast are louder than any bomb. Kidda has also been added to the artist rooster with one of his singles 'Under The Sun' being synced to the Bacardi advert, aswell as the Herve remix hitting the world's dancefloors fidget style. X-Press 2, as always are on the go, with 'Raise Your Hands' being released as a retrospective album of their music over the past 20 years from Junior Boy's Own to now, as well as their latest tune 'Now I'm On It' which was released early 2009. Tim deluxe is also pulling out regular releases which are smashing the techno scene. His last release 'Jack It / Mudpod' had great reviews and support by the big Dj's in the scene (Carl Cox, Danny Tanaglia, Groove Armada, Derrick Carter and Jonathan Ulysses). We are now looking forward to his new release 'Storm In A Teacup' which will be out mid 2009. For the rest of the year we are awaiting the new Goose compilation album which will be a selection of tracks by various artists, mixed and mashed up nicely for you. Also, X-Press 2 are in the studio and already have some big tunes on the go. Enjoy!
